Scalp massages
What is it that hair stylists do that feels so awesome when they wash your hair? Does anyone else intensely enjoy having their hair washed?
I got a haircut today, and I'm always amazed by how sensitive my scalp is to brushing and washing. Makes me feel tingly all over, sometimes for up to a half hour after! Makes me wish I had someone who would wash my hair for me every day! |

Yeah, I used to really enjoy getting my hair cut back in the days when I had hair as a fashion accessory.
Used to go to this place and this Asian woman would do firm concentric circles on my skull with her fingertips. Definitely is an all-over tingly feeling. Takes a lot of self control to hold back the pleasure spasms in public. Felt amazing. I've also had partners that went into a oh-yeah coma over getting their hair brushed. Had a few girls that loved being manhandled by their hair. I think it was part dominance, part scalp-'gasm. Last edited by Plan9; 11-21-2010 at 10:46 PM.. |

In Asia (or the parts of Asia I've been to and lived in) a scalp massage is standard with a haircut. I love getting my hair cut just so I can get the scalp massage.

Hah! My hairstylist and I were talking about this the last time I went in for a haircut. I was telling her about how my husband and his friend claimed that they could cut my hair for $10 in 10 minutes. I had told them that that was more than I paid my stylist for the time spent, so forget it! My stylist pointed out that it was also unlikely that such a haircut came with a scalp massage, which is, undeniably, the best part of a good haircut. We then pondered why scalp massages are so awesome, and we decided that part of it is that the scalp gets massaged so rarely by other people. It's true--the only person who really ever massages my scalp (besides my stylist) is my mom. My husband has since started giving me scalp massages since my last haircut, but only when I ask.
But I really want a scalp massager like this one: ![]() My friends have one, and I tried it when I visited last--it gave me shivers! Awesome.

I love the scalp massages too. I have really long hair(past my waist), and most of my friends like to play with my hair, brush it, ect.....I dont mind at all cause it feels really good.....
I think Plan9 is right about the scalp-gasm cause I like a little pulling and tugging, it seems to heighten the experience. |

The only thing I miss about not getting my haircuts at salons anymore.
