Vintage photos and postcards
I'm not a collector of old photos or postcards, but my mother inherited an OLD farmhouse from a distant cousin, a few years ago, and these were among the things we found there. I liked them and just couldn't get rid of them I don't know who any of the people are, but there's a good chance some are my ancestors. Just thought I'd share...

I love old photos like these. I only have a few of my own, but I have a very large collection of digital images I have picked up over the years on various sites.
Lovely.

My great-grandfather. My great-grandfather with my grandfather. My grandfather with his two sisters. Given that my grandfather was born in 1908, I estimate these at around 1909-1910. Around one hundred years ago. I love looking at old pictures, like these, in antique stores. But, as much as I enjoy looking at them, I'm always a little saddened by the fact that the subjects are lost to history and no one will ever know who they were.

I love these family photos you people have added. So many changes in so few years. I know I have an old family album here; I'll see if anything is post worthy later. Gotta go right now.
I'd love to see more. |

My buddy Spinelust sent me a whole bunch of excellent old school post cards over the years, many of them while I was deployed.
This is only a few. I have a thick stack of them in one of my old footlockers. Her thoughts kept me company on many lonely nights. |

Thank you, seamaiden. Her hairstyle is certainly unique as well isn't it. These were easy to find on Google's homepage where I clicked on "Images" and then typed "outrageous vintage photos" in the searchbox. The first hat pic above showed up and when I clicked on the pic the website showed up with a myriad of vintage photos that were incredible. I have 2 outrageous topless cabaret gals but if I post it then this thread may go NSFW...i don't want to be the first.
Here are 2 more I found:

I have quite a few, seamaiden, so i'll start a thread of "Vintage Showgirl Photos" since many of them are topless and probably NSFW.
Here's a vintage photo for here though:
