Favorite M&M
I like the tan plain m&ms the best.
There always seemed to be the fewest of those in the bag. What is your favorite color/type of m&m? |
They all... taste the same.
|
I had a roomate who would pick out all of the blue ones and set them aside - she wouldn't eat the blue fruit loops either, she felt they were unnatural.
I don't find the colors are any different - I have no preference there. Peanut butter m&ms are super. |
Non, I hardly eat M&M's, I never notice them in the store!
Brings me to another question, is there actually blue food? |

Although the colors don't taste different, there's definitely a strange preference. I prefer the dark brown in the plain and the yellow in peanut M&Ms. |
Colors don't matter to me, and I like all types. That said, I used to only tolerate peanut M&M's but now find myself actually preferring them over regular M&M's. I think it's because they're bigger. Regular M&M's just don't feel substantial to hold.
I really liked the peanut butter strawberry M&M's that came out this summer. I hope they continue to make those. |
the free ones.
|
none of them really. I prefer dark chocolate.
|
dark chocolate m&ms are awesome.
i miss the tan ones. and love almond or peanut m&ms. |
I love the dark chocolate ones the best. But since I am a chocoholic, any M&M will do when I am searching for chocolate.
|
I prefer Smarties to Plain M&Ms but love Peanut M&Ms... I don't care what colour.

I don't eat candy.
But if I do... I like fruit flavored things. Like Skittles... and RuPaul. |
Peanut M&M's for the win. Always.
|
I like M&Ms of all types, but I rarely eat them.

Mmmm peanut butter M&Ms. Too bad I didn't see this thread before going to the store earlier.
I don't have a favorite color of M&M. I love them all equally. |
Plain!! I'll eat peanut in a crunch...
|
lurkette claimed the yellow ones were her favorite.
She said they taste "buttery". I was all like c'mon. They're all the same, aren't they? But I had to admit, I eat them by the handful. I don't take time to savor the nuances of flavor and aroma. So we blindfolded her and tried it out, and she was 100% accurate telling the yellow ones. Scary stuff, people. |
I like Reese's Pieces best...
Oh wait. I'm not an M&M racist. All colors are equal. |
I separate and then eat M&M's by color. Tan first, then brown, yellow, orange, red, green, blue. I do the same thing with Skittles, but the color order's different.
hmmm...peanut butter m&m's are yummy, but if I eat too many, they make me sick. So...green peanut m&m's are my favorite. |
I realized I am an M&M sexist, though. The green one's super hot!
|
Green's my favorite color, so the green Peanut M&M is it for me.
The red ones have a little bitter taste to them, in my opinion. Throw a few M&Ms in Chex mix and you have a sweet and savory treat. |

As for me, I am an M&M segregationist. Upon opening a packet of M&Ms (or Reese's Pieces, or Skittles, or Mike & Ikes, or jelly beans, etc.), I pour them all out onto a tabletop or desktop, and carefully separate them by color into little groups. Generally speaking, whatever color is the most plentiful gets eaten first, and so on in decreasing order, until the "rarest" color is eaten last, one by one. I am shockly non-OCD and free of compulsions about everything else in the world. It is only multicolored candy pieces that I feel compelled to separate according to their kinds, and eat in any order. All else being equal, I will probably prefer blue M&Ms, because I feel there is a shortage of blue food in nature, that artificial coloring should make up for. |
This thread makes me feel better about whatever mental illnesses I may or may not have.
I like peanut M&Ms... but now I'm on a quest for dark chocolate and (gasp) almond M&Ms. |

m&ms are a waste of time.

Peanut M&M's - a great snack to share with the kids & remind me of when I was one too
Of the duo...

Red has always been my fav. I remember way back when, when Red was an original color before they took them out because of the dye, they were my fav then too. It was a happy happy day for me when they came back lol

Oh interesting. US Smarties have limited appeal. Good in a pinch, but otherwise crap. Those other Smarties... are they like fruit flavored Mentos? Chocolate? Something else?

I don't really care about the color of the chocolate candies; my first post was an indication of which M&M advertisement character was my favorite. This is really the only way to differentiate them in mind, other than the coloured baggies, an indication of whether the M&M's are classic(milk chocolate), peanut(legume), peanut butter(flavour), dark chocolate, mint, almond, dulce de leche(Latin markets), M&M's minis, Mega M&M's, the eight new flavours, and perhaps Punk.of.Ages's favorite specialty, "crispy" M&M's. (click here for the largest M&M's picture of the different baggies) M&M's History 1990s In 1990, Peanut Butter M&M's were released. These candies have peanut butter inside the chocolate center and the same color scheme as the other brands. In 1995, Mars ran a promotion in which consumers were invited to vote on which of blue, pink, or purple would replace the tan M&M's. Blue was the winner, replacing tan in early 1995. Consumers could vote by calling 1-800-FUN-COLOR. (The introduction of blue M&M's to Australia in 1997 was controversially promoted by the Carlton Football Club of the AFL who swapped their trademark dark blue guernseys for pale blue guernseys—their first change since the early 20th century.[11]) Concurrent with the Blue M&M campaign, M&M's replaced their earlier kid-friendly and generic animated characters with computer animated "spokescandies" in their commercials. These include the team of the cynical and sardonic "Red" (originally Jon Lovitz, thereafter Billy West), who is the mascot for milk chocolate M&M's, and the happy and gullible "Yellow" (originally John Goodman, thereafter J.K. Simmons), who is the mascot for peanut M&M's. Other mascots include the "cool one", Blue (Robb Pruitt) for almond; the seductive Green (Cree Summer) for peanut butter, mint, and dark chocolate (Green is the only female M&M's mascot); and the slightly neurotic Orange (Eric Kirchberger) for other types of M&M's in general, who was initially not named after his color (for a time when he was introduced, he was known as Crispy due to his being a mascot for the now-discontinued Crispy M&M's, which debuted around the same time). Around the same time, novelty M&M's were available in specialty stores, such as FAO Schwarz, in 21 different colors. In 1996, Mars introduced a new M&M's candy: the "M&M's Minis". These candies are very small and are usually sold in small plastic tubes instead of bags. A video game, M&M's: The Lost Formulas, was also eventually released, based on this candy. In 1999, Crispy M&M's were released. They were slightly larger than the milk chocolate variety and featured a crispy rice center. They were discontinued in the United States in 2005, but they are still available in Europe, Australia, and southeast Asia. The talk of specialty M&Ms reminds me of how much I enjoy the mint chocolate ones that come out at Christmas. Yum.
|
Yeah I'm down with the chocolate mint ones. The mini's are good too. They're 'fresher.' The crispy ones weren't bad but I'm not sure they make them anymore.
Then there's these: http://blogs.knoxnews.com/knx/books/...20MMS_Knot.JPG I've tried mocha, triple chocolate and mint chocolate. Was really bummed. I thought they'd be great. So my fave is probably plain. I'm not racist when it comes to my M&M's though. They're all brown inside. |
I got a pack from the vending machine and all the silly girls hogged my M&M's, now I'm bitter because I had to hand the pack around. I WANT MY M&M's BACK!
|
I want to try the Coconut M&Ms but can't find them around here.
Has anyone here tried them? Are they good? |
Fremen - try Walgreens, if you have it. That is where I have seen them. Have not tried them, myself.
