Again...if I were back in those days, I would condemn it then, as I condemn it now, as I condemn this now.

Times change with the methods. I condemn them too. I think the big difference between now and then, for some, is the option to opt out. I mean several hundred years ago opting out wasn't an option as much as it is now. You grew up and you followed the standards of the community around you... or else. That's not so much the case these days. But it is for some I think. I've known people that have grown up in churches that engaged in shunning. They may mot be shot or burned at the stake for opting out but they do lose their friends and family. That has to suck.

I'm pretty glad this happened. I don't agree with the church of Scientology in their methods. I know a few ex-Scientologists (most are or were in the military) and they told me about the different training methods and practises they do.. and it's kind of like brainwashing methods. The leaders want COMPLETE control over their members and their members' finances. In the 80s they started this complete control over their members.. and in the 90s turned on to complete control of the media.. and they've been planning a take over of society. Seriously.
They're(Scientologists) taking away freedom of speech, so if you're argument is freedom of speech for them.. then you're argument just makes no sense to me. It's not a matter of freedom of speech.. but of propaganda. |
