Unfortunately, the "oh shit" moment only happens for people who actually pay attention to this sort of thing and realize the implications. The idea that climate change is happening and it is upon us right now is gaining some momentum. But there are still way to many nay-sayers and people who just don't care.
The US government official position for years was wait-and-see and needs-more-study. All that had more to do with the changes needed were going to cost industry profits so it was better (for them) to ignore the problem. |

Yes, this is quite disturbing. I watched this the other night on Discovery. It is a reminder that things are changing and fast.
