(BC for rodents) Forced Abortions-Cruelty or the only Humane choice
As we all know China is defiantly not the gold standard for human rights but what about their approach to animal rights. I found this story interesting in light of the "new" video of Chinese security forces beating protesters already secure in their custody. What does it say about China that they will go so far in their attempts to keep the blood of animals off their hands.
BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | Chinese use pills to curb gerbils Quote:
My thoughts on this are that if the money is already being spent on spreading the pills around why not have them be poison and not BC. As it is the current population that is causing the problems shouldn't they do something to lower the current population before they attempt to stabilize it. I know they tried to introduce natural predator low income housing but that would only work if they had a ready supply of the predators. What are your thoughts? |
For anyone that only read the thread title, this thread is about animal cruelty, not forcing Chinese women to take BC.
It's an odd solution, for sure, but it's a lot more humane than poison. And I would imagine it would take a lot of pressure off the male gerbils to wrap it up. |
They run over their citizenry with tanks on International T.V. It really does beg the question why they care about the "rights" of gerbils and don't just kill them. Perhaps they can't guarantee that other animals wouldn't eat the pills, further harming the ecosystem?
I say we get them to chill out with the tanks first, though. |
