Happy Spring, My Merry Lambs!

March 20 (and 21st) marks the Vernal Equinox (aka the first day of spring)!

As someone who lives in the Great White North, this is a big deal to me.

I'm looking forward to tuning up my bike.

I'm more looking forward to the world turning green again and going on nature walks.

I can't wait for the warmer breezes on my skin.

I can't wait to leave my gloves at home. I've already started wearing shoes outside instead of boots.

What are your plans for the warmer weather?

Here we go a-Maying! (Eventually.)

This winter was rather harsh on the yard. We've got a lot of work to do once it warms up.
Looking forward to the yard work. It'll get me off the couch. Hibernation is almost over.

Now that spring is here I don't have to commute to work in the dark. I plan to get out more, hiking, biking and photography. The first thing I have to do though is clean up after a huge willow tree fell last year. I had willow tree parts everywhere all winter.

We don't have a yard to work on, but we have a patio to clean up. Plus there are planters there for our herbs and flowers.

I like all the daylight we've been getting during the commute for sure!

warmer weather here means staying indoors and going to malls. it sucks, but hey winters here are your summers there. summer is unbearable, and for now spring is great.

first day of spring today was lovely here. 35 degrees celcius (roughly about 100F). spent the day trekking and then later went to the beach. a great day to be chilling out

that's damned hot dlish!

spring here to me means going to the beach, going for walks, surfing more, and generally doing more outdoor things. It means dinners on my balcony on warm evenings. It means reading a book in the park. It means going for a long swim in the sea. I suck with plants though!

I love spring here. All the flowers put me into a good mood. Can't wait until the cherry trees blossom; in some parts of town, it ends up looking as if there has been a pink snowshower.

Happy spring, everyone!

This is the second sheep/lamb related moment of my day, so I had to come share these:

Spring....
eventually, it will warm up enough to throw open the windows and let the fresh breeze into the house...
slowly, surely, the yard will get spruced up...
the dogs will linger longer, resisting our entreaties to come back in...
the winter gear will be cleaned and stowed away...
but first... I think I'll defrost a couple of ribeyes and fire up the grille!

Those are awesome, tippler! Thanks for posting those pics...they are very unique creations! I think if I saw them from a distance, I'd be hard-pressed to tell that they weren't real sheep (though they aren't as shaggy).

It was 40 degrees today. It's about 30 now. *shivers*

I am very much anti-winter. Seems like it gets longer every year, and every year the yearning to move South (or West) gets stronger.

When it finally decides to warm up around here, I'll start jogging every day again... and going to the park... and riding around with my sunroof open. Mmmmmm, I can't wait.

I had a hunch you'd appreciate the sheep GH

Having one that works at home seems perfectly feasible. You just need lots of working old phones, a metal frame to make the sheep, and some electrical skills! Hehe
