Congratulations to Vancouver and all of BC! Should be a real economic boon!

Congrats to Vancouver.
I my own selfish way I'm happy. Maybe now I can watch the Olympics in real time instead of tape delay. Nawwwww, the networks will find a way to screw it up and make me watch tape of events in my own time zone.

I was planning on moving to Vancouver within a year or two anyways, the Olympics will provide a huge boost for the hospitality industry there, which means I would have no problem finding work. With Beijing having the 2008 summer games, I really didn't think they'd give the 2010 games to South Korea, especially with neighbours who are card carrying members of 'The Axis of Evil'

I'm in Seattle. Might be nice to just take a run over the border. Although, I remember the ticket prices for the Utah games were honestly cost prohibitive. Oh well, if I don't go, at least i'm in the right time zone for cool live coverage.
For Himbo: not sure how or where to get tickets. But here's a tip: I went to Vegas a few years ago. My travel agent gave me a name and number of a guy IN Vegas who got us pit seats at Sigfried and Roy. Yeah, those are difficult to get. My point is, the best tickets will come from good connections like that, and most likely NOT from Ticketmaster. Good luck! Start making some calls now. |

That is great news for Vancouver.
I guess that sews things up for Toronto for many years to come... Can't see the Summer games being awarded here any time soon.
