Happy Family Day!
Happy Family Day to those who are enjoying a well-deserved day off in this late winter month of February.
I, unfortunately, have at least four hours of work to do. But that's fine, as it isn't anything very difficult...plus it's quite well paid. My SO and I are going to go to a close friend's house to make some Indian dishes later on, however. None of us have any kids, but I suppose all of us together are kind of like family. Are any of you with kids doing anything special today? Either way, I hope you enjoy the time off.

Time off? Heh. Right. No.
My day today consists of setting up and checking on a couple of experiments, attending two lectures, and catching up on some scientific reading. I might get home before 10pm. I hope others are able to enjoy this holiday in my place!

No Family Day here. I could use a long weekend. Maybe I can make the case that I should be given one because my people are getting one in the homeland.

My wife and two boys had off today, as well as this past Friday. I had work both days though I left early today to run a personal errand and get home early. Actually, this "holiday" caught me by surprise. If they have off for a 4 day weekend next year, I'll plan a mini-vacation for us.

Here it is President's Day. The kids were home from school, and will be all week. I had to work. Family Day sounds like a nice thing to celebrate. Maybe I can start a new tradition

Our local schools didn't even get Presidents' Day off today; it was a snow make-up day. So I had a typical day as the university doesn't take it off anyways.

I'm on vacation through Wednesday. We had sort of a family day. I stayed home with the younger 2 kids while the teenager and her friends took off to another friend's house.

Played some Company of Heroes, went skating, and then the saddest thing happened. I was scheduled to play a gig tonight with a vibraphonist. He called to cancel because of a death in the family.
I played the gig solo.

I went to the Autoshow with my dad and my mom came in to look after our kids while my wife had to work. After the autoshow we ordered Chinese food. It was a nice day.
On Sunday the Model Railroad Club of Toronto had an open house and I took my son. It was a big hit and a lot of fun.
