I prefer utilitarian shoes, as I have no sense of style. I leave it to my partner to pick out cute shoes that will serve me well for occasions where my lack of style is a problem.
I have little desire to own and wear fashionable footwear if it's not comfortable, though sometimes I have no choice. At weddings, I'll bring sneakers to change into for dancing; we take wedding dancing very seriously and do not mess around with trying to dance in heels. I'm a huge fan of multi-terrain shoes that are either waterproof or quick-drying. My bicycle also has clipless pedals, so anytime I ride anywhere I have to wear cycling shoes. I covet multi-terrain running/hiking shoes and bicycle cleats like some women covet Manolo's or Jimmy Choo's. I got a pair of Vibram Five Fingers last year in Key West and I love them (they're far better in the gym for me than traditional sneakers). Chuck Taylors and slide sandals have been a staple in my closet for several years. I adore my Docs that I bought five years ago and am sad that the style I own (steel toe, six eyelet) is no longer being sold. Oh, also... I hate Crocs.

There was a time in my life when I would only wear Faragamo shoes, but those days are long gone. Now, with age, I am into comfort. I prefer moccasins, but I still have dress up shoes, and a few pair of boots.

My shoes are a mix, my work boots being leather steel toes, a bit overkill for whats required for the job but for my clumsiness they're required in my mind. Outside of work I wear flip flops 99% of the time, the other being a pair of Vans that I wear when I actually need to be in shoes. I hate shoes, but due to my job I have to wear them 10 plus hours a day.

I don't wear shoes. I'd guess I have 10-15 pairs of foot wear everything from work boots to dress shoes to tennis/gym wear. But there mostly all in storage in the US. Just beach wear here.

If I could spend most of my days in flip flops I would be a very happy girl. My feet hate real shoes.
Sadly, chemistry labs and flip flops do not mix! I'd get raked over the coals for having my toes exposed but I can understand. God forbid I spill 6N HCl on my feet. I do love some stylish and sexy pumps and boots but I do not wear them much as I am uncoordinated and there has to be a good reason to wear them, aka sex or going out or sex. I don't spend much on any of my shoes, I buy them all at target. I love target!
