Description

Nothing for sale

I am legitimately trying to sell nothing.

It is hard to describe nothing but I can tell you that it is nothing like anything you have ever seen. There is no photo available because I do not know how to take a picture of nothing.

Some sellers have tried to trick buyers into buying nothing. This is not my goal. I am really trying to sell nothing. My friends tell me that people will buy anything on eBay. Now I want to see if I it is possible to sell nothing. I also want to find out how much nothing is worth to someone? I want to find out the price of nothing.

If you want to be the first person to buy nothing from me, bid on this item. Bid as high or as low as you want to (there is no reserve price). I may or may not try to sell nothing again; it depends on how well this auction goes. But if you want to be the first one to buy nothing from me, then go ahead and bid on this item.

Note: If you bid on this item, you are bidding on nothing . If you end up with the winning bid, you will get nothing. I will ship nothing to you. There are no shipping costs
associated with this item because it costs nothing to ship nothing.

spectre 06-30-2003 02:20 PM

Just when I start regaining my faith in humanity, I read a story like this and remember why I lost it in the first place.

Fade 06-30-2003 03:51 PM

hmm... quite smart actually. a 14.50 profit....sweet

Nappa 06-30-2003 03:58 PM

Best 15.00 I ever spent!!!!!!

Gortexfogg 06-30-2003 04:58 PM

Reminds me of a friend of a friend who sold a G-Force 2 (or some other computer thingy) box. I think it sold pretty well.

The question is, how would you ship nothing?

The_Dude 06-30-2003 05:33 PM

there is no shippping involved.

this is completely stupid, why the hell would somebody wanna waste money like that?

they could've donated it to the tfp!

losfp 06-30-2003 05:41 PM

Well, if anyone was silly enough to bid on nothing.. good luck to the auction owners! Kinda like the begging websites - it's interesting to see how many people will illingly give you money for nothing! Maybe I should try that myself...

MikeyChalupa 06-30-2003 05:43 PM

Interesting... the winning bidder placed bids of $6.66 and $9.11.

On E-bay

Onetime?
I bought some thing?
when I got it?
it was no-thing.

no-thing at all.

Boy, was I pissed.

Slims 06-30-2003 07:41 PM

I wonder if I could sell nothing...

rogue49 06-30-2003 08:23 PM

I guess it's all in the marketing.

The was impressed by the italicized "nothing".
Caught their eye.;)

Meridae'n 06-30-2003 08:26 PM

That's a good profit margin...

absorbentishe 06-30-2003 08:52 PM

Tells you that someone will buy just about anything! Even if it's nothing...

Gman 06-30-2003 08:54 PM

Awesome

Bill O'Rights 07-01-2003 04:59 AM

No, eBay will take its cut, and there's a listing fee.

CaptainGumby 07-01-2003 06:29 AM

I seriously doubt the winner will ever send any money. I'm suprised that it only hit $15. Usually crap like that gets bid up over one million.

cchris 07-01-2003 06:35 AM

So money really is worthless?

Wow! I stand corrected. Hopefully the paypal account actually belongs to the auction winner. Usually people who bid on/win crap like that have no intention of ever paying.

My faith in humanity apparently has taken a major hit today.

kinetix 07-01-2003 09:24 AM

anyone interested in buying jackshit?

theone18 07-01-2003 09:28 AM

lol

I bought a 23' sailboat for under $3K a couple months ago and became an ebay lover overnite. radio, shitter, gps, new(er) sails, stove, you name it. Now I need to start sellin stuff on there. The only thing that's monked up is the radio, which I sent to the manufacturer and got back a brand new one.

Now I'm not a huge video gamer, but my girlfriend got me a ps2 this winter, and the best thing to buy on ebay is video games, price wise. I got GTA: Vice City for $11.00, and Metal Gear Solid2 for $13.50...can't pass that up.

MacGnG 07-01-2003 09:42 AM

"yo, how can we make some money"
"i dunno, lets sell stuff"
"we dont have anything"
"oh, well um. lets sell nothing"
"yea on ebay, someone will buy it"
"yea they sell everything on ebay, i bet someone would buy nothing"
"yea!"
"yeah"

viveleroi0 07-01-2003 02:08 PM

I bet the high bidder was just a buddy of his that really isn't going to pay $14

bondagegirl 07-01-2003 02:34 PM

damn even if it was a hoax, there were 14 bids on it from different people! WTF? Thats insane if it was real.

VirFighter 07-01-2003 03:02 PM

Damn, why does it work for this guy?

A friend of mine tried selling all of our spam email. I don't have a link to the description but it sounded pretty enticing at the time. Maybe something else about our presentation was wrong.

I gotta get my one bike on it.. been meaning to sell it for 5-6 years now. :/

Eviltree 07-01-2003 08:51 PM

wow, something for nothing. Or nothing for somthing.... Either way, one idiot is 14.50 less rich, and another idiot is 14.50 more rich. I don't understand.

txstar 07-01-2003 09:40 PM

I said I wanted nothing for my birthday...who knew.

dci 07-01-2003 10:19 PM

nah...ebay is the one getting rich, taking about a buck..

prolly no money exchanged hands between buyer and seller.

MilleniumZeus 07-02-2003 06:07 AM

Didn't that guy know, nothing's free these days

ananayal 07-02-2003 07:22 PM

I saw an air guitar on ebay today. i don't have a link for it. the first person to put something like that up always pulls it off. The giant ebay cheeto? remember that? today i also saw a giant corn flake. funny stuff.

OzOz 07-05-2003 12:09 AM

Very clever! I'd love to know if the winner actually paid!
