I ate *way* too many moon cakes on Friday at our office celebration...

As I write this, I can hear my neighbours firing off firecrackers.

I have never heard of this...

I hadn't heard of the Mid-Autumn Festival before today either. Wiki is my friend.

i don't like traditional mooncake very much, even if i buy one that is well made.

Don't even get me started about the free ones at restaurants.

I am OK with the Lotus Seed Paste but can do without the salted egg yolk. I'm not a fan of the other traditional flavours.

That said, bring on the snow skin cakes with modern flavourings... I had a chocolate mint one and a red date and wolfberry one that were amazing.
