Tilted Monthly Awards - August 1 Round
Well, here we are again!
It's time to nominate your favorite TFP'ers for the August round of the Tilted Monthly Awards. (we need to come up with a new name, lol) This month we have a batch of new categories and we have a couple of changes to the process to announce. From now on, award categories will change monthly and each winner will hold their title for 3 months instead of just one. So the folks who won their awards on July 1: Tilted Host - Cynthetiq Tilted Presenter - roachboy Tilted Mentor - ratbastid Tilted Natural - Tully Mars Tilted Samaritan - Martian ...will keep their titles until October 1st, when their titles will be recycled. Employee of the Month will continue to be given out monthly as we have decided that mods should be ineligible for nominations in the other categories. So don't vote for us in any other category!! Here is a link to a listing of the forum's mods and admins, in case you need it: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showgroups.php Clear as mud? If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask - either here on the thread or by private message to any mod. Here are the award categories open for nominations for this month: Quote:
...and have fun with it!!! As the voting progresses we may introduce new features to this thread so that the voting becomes more interactive. Again, like I said last month, this process is still under construction - expect things to change... One last thing, use this thread to add your comments and ideas about how the voting should work and also to suggest future categories. We can't promise you that every idea will be used, but every bit of advice and creative input helps! Thanks everyone! Now Ready, Set.....VOTE!!!

Why can't the winners keep their titles? I mean, actors don't have to give up their Oscars after a couple of months...

Well, my first thought is that it's because we would run out of categories very quickly...plus, we have limited space for displaying the awards icons, which would mean folks could never win more than one or two awards.
Just off the top of my head. But we will take it under consideration. Perhaps there is a way to acknowledge past winners. Perhaps a sticky thread or something...

Also, some things I neglected to mention:
The title of Tilted Samaritan will be voted on monthly by the mods only. A lot of people weren't sure who to vote for in this category last month. And the deadline! Please submit your votes to me by midnight, Wednesday, July 30th!

I don't understand why mods can't win any awards other than employee of the month.
I mean, you guys contribute to this community just the same as anyone else, plus you keep it in line. Doesn't really make sense to me...

I had an idea the last time around that revolved around creating a specific award for the tittyboard. That's a whole different TFP subculture down there (ha! down there... ) and I think some of those guys might be interested in something like this. They won't likely get recognized any other way - but they bring a lot of the traffic to the site, or so I'm told (where is Ustwo when you need him? Oh, that's right - he bolted...) and it might be interesting to see bobby win an award for all the work he puts into his posts :P

If there's a TB award, Bobby will have to either be disqualified or just awarded without any contest.

Come on, people, time is running out. There are a lot of responses here, but the votes we have don't match the number of people participating in this thread. Give it some thought and shoot a PM with your nominees.

I dunno. Most people consider Mother Tresa to be a saint, but those recently released writings of hers clearly pointed to her being at the very least conflicted about her faith. Maybe saint can just mean a person of great virtue.
