So anyway, I said no thanks and he left, a bit dejected. Hopefully he found other people to massage or massaged himself at the end of the day. |

French people are very gracious, offering massages to various people at the beach. The main reason we don't make a point of visiting nudist resorts or beaches is that there is always this touched in the head element. Most people are cool, but there always seems to be this one person who wants to talk a little too long, linger a while too long. And of course, it's always a guy, never Samantha Fox.

I would not mind going to a clothing optional beach, but if it was a nude beach, as long as I had the option to keep my trunks on, I would exercise my that option. I'm not comfortable with other people seeing me in the nude. (I tend to dress modestly to begin with, and wouldn't be caught dead in a speedo)

I just wonder how many guys get to a nude beach for the first time and manage to remain nonchalant as they dress down, only to realize their mistake when they pull out the bottle of sunscreen.

I went to San Onofre beach once on vacation. It was interesting, but my mind was working too hard to relax. At first there is shock that other people are naked and walking around, it was probably 70% guys so it felt like a locker room a little. The next problem was trying to figure out where to look. I pretty much had to not look anywhere other people were. One part of me thinks, if you came to this beach, you should expect to be looked at (even stared at). If you don't want to have people looking at you, walk two miles further down where no one is. I caught some glimpses, and probably looked at the hot girl a little too long. But, it is hard to watch a volleyball game without looking at the moving parts. The other thing was there were a few kids (7-14) with their parents, and society really frowns upon seeing naked people that age. And the third problem was overcoming the thought, omg, I'm naked and there are lots of other people around. I'm not too self-conscious about my body, but it was an interesting experience. I think it would have been better had there been fewer people, and I didn't have to walk two miles to get to it (I missed the place you were supposed to park). Swimming naked in the waves is fun. And no tan lines is another benefit, but wear sunscreen on parts you wouldn't want burned...(and put it on before you get there) Last edited by ASU2003; 07-19-2008 at 05:35 PM.. |

I've recently overcome any issues with nudity that I ever had so I like to think I wouldn't have a problem going to a nude beach. Least not on my own, I would probably have an issue if I went with certain friends of mine - ok so maybe not all my issues
Far as I know there aren't any nude beaches in my general area there are however ALOT of top optional ones, I've gone topless a few times which is not fun exactly but soothing, the warmth of the sun, occasional tickle of a slight breeze off the water. It's all ruined however when some smart ass walks buy "Whoa Dude check out the rack on her" or the snicking sound of a camera shutter. I'm also slightly uncomfortable putting sunscreen on my breasts, that's right you get alot of looks when you're rubbing a white viscous fluid into your skin. These days if I want to do some nude sunbathing or swimming I just wait til everyone has gone to work then sit out in the backyard, only been walked in on by delivery guys a few times.

I haven't done this yet but someday I will. I like the idea of it. After all, we're all human, we all have the same parts, they just come in different proportions. Nothing to be ashamed/afraid of.

only once at a topless beach- a crowded one on honeymoon in italy... nasty fat germans, hot italians, and my wife was convinced to take her top off by me. she enjoyed looking at the guys walking by from behind her sunglasses- I admit it was a little weird when we discovered the two ladies beside us were Americans who also found it kinda thrilling to be topless, but it somehow made it MORE sexual because we all knew it was not something we were supposed to do but taking advantage of a situation where we could get away with it. Probably very different from most nudist beaches.

I have been to this nude beach in St. Martin a few times- most recently last month. The first hour is very interesting, after the third or fourth hour, seems just like any other beach...

I went to one, once. It was interesting, in that 85-90% of the people on the beach looked like they remembered the Truman presidency quite well. It was like they were all there going, "You know what? I served in Korea. I went to grad school wearing an 'I Like Ike' button. I been wearing clothes for nigh on seventy years, and now I get to take them off!" I think I saw my lifetime fill of white pubic hair that day.
Still, that whole, "you forget you're naked, you don't even notice other people" thing was so not true for me. There were these two girls who were around my age who were terminally hot, with the cuteness and the slinky hair and the prancing around playfully, and much bobbing of gravity-defying boobies. And I will freely admit that each and every time they came round, the ol' kosher sausage plumped right up to greet them, and I had to make a dive for the water. I am just as happy sticking to bathing suit beaches.

When we were in St. Martin, we discovered Happy Bay. It's only accessible via a footpath from Friars' Beach, just West of Grand Case. Gorgeous beach, and EMPTY. There was a resort on it that was destroyed in the hurricane and was never rebuilt, so nobody much goes there. It makes a very nice "private" beach. |

Keeping with the theme, ktsp and I went for a 3km hike (about 2 miles) up to a geothermal river, just half an hour's drive from Reykjavík. It was the hottest day on record in Iceland yesterday (76 F, 23 C), so we took advantage of it for an evening hike... and at the top, settled ourselves into a nice pool in the river, which was hotter than a hot tub (and flowing all around us).
It was absolutely lovely, and there was only one other couple up the river from us (hidden, since there are so many pools on this river), so we shed our suits and soaked naked for an hour or so. We are definitely going back there again, maybe when the air is a little cooler and the feeling of total immersion in a hot, flowing water will be all the more dramatic.

been to the same place well over 10x now. best is the middle of winter and there is a metre of snow. was most recently there a few nights ago at about 2am. there is nothing like you, a couple of friends and just iceland at it´s most amazing. it´s a bit disappointing that the place has become a bit of a tourist spot as when i 1st started going there over a year ago it was word-of-mouth and you were guaranteed to meet 2-3 people at the most. i really enjoy nuding up there but it´s starting to get a bit too crowded. my current mission is to find another similar river. that and swim in the waterfall about 100m downstream

My wife and I love nude beaches. We have gone to a few. Little Beach on Maui in Hawaii was awesome and Wreck Beach in Vancouver Canada is great. Must be careful walking down the long stairs as you can get a leg cramp if you put your heel on the sand each step. Otherwise, the police on Wreck Beach are only aresting people for selling beer and drinks and food on the beach. It is a non-commercial nude beach. Sadly, the police were clothed. hehe.... Also we liked the nude Beach near Portland, Oregon. Something Island is what it was called. Anyway, had a great 4 hours there and headed home at sunset.
Nude beaches didn't change my life much, but nude friendly hot springs in the mountains did when I was a kid. Nudity does not bother me as my family traveled a lot to hot springs and it just became 2nd nature or perhaps 1st nature. *grins* Oh yes, I went to a nude beach off the coast of Dubrovnik, back in the late 80's. Had to take a ferry to the island. Lots of French and German tourists on the island. Adriatic waters were so warm and the waves were perfect sized as there were a few rocks around. Good thing we had taken our own lunches and towels. Very cool place before the war. Not sure what it is like now. |
