I wanted something that invoked classic beauty and charm--qualities I would at least *like* to possess. And I find the character Sabrina Fairchild to be one of the most charming characters in dramatic literature. My handle was technically inspired by the play, not the movie, but really, who is more classically beautiful and charming than Audrey Hepburn.

Absolutely 100% randomness.

It was the name of one of the short-lived bands I played in. We illegally used the image of the guild navigator from the movie Dune. The picture we had was great... but this was the best I could find.
http://www.24liesasecond.com/site2/i...eNavigator.jpg We decided his name was Otto and that he was a pilot. It was amusing to imagine how he spent his down-time, his dating life, his parents, 12 step spice-anonymous, etc. |

Mine is a nick name from my teenage years.

"spinelust" was born from a conversation I was having with my ex one night in college. We were discussing the erogenous zones assigned to our respective zodiac signs, and the spine was one of mine. Months later I was sitting at my desk trying to come up with an alias for a new email address. For some reason that conversation popped into my head, followed by the name.

My user account name for an online game I played was BalletHippo - very drunken night with my sister trying to pick usernames for wow and not being able we started putting in random objects, we were watching Fantasia and well yeah ...
So turns out the Hippo in Fantasia was actually named Hyacinthe - so there we go my handle on TFP. Almost all of my alternative names have turned out to be flowers now so it's developed it's own theme :) |
Mine is and old CB handle I used many, many moons ago.

When I was a kid I liked Star Wars. Being creative, my online alias was Skystriker.
However, when I joined a role-playing game once I realized that this was not always appropriate for a name, so I wanted to think of something more fantasy oriented. Well, I was raised Christian and had read up on angelology at some point for some reason (probably just browsing the net) and heard of the name 'Jolrael' that was an angel. I thought it was a pretty if zany name and figured I'd make mine a bit more unique, so I inserted different consonants all the way through the alphabet, and knew I liked the name Jozrael (especially since the shortened version Joz, which everyone online seems to do to names, I particularly liked). I've slowly been shifting my aliases from Skystriker to Jozrael over the years, though my gaming names tend to still be sky oriented, if not Skystriker. It holds a special place in my heart. |
I was working on a network special on the origin of illicit drugs.

A conjuction of my first and middle name, a village in France and Germany or my tendancy to rant on and on.
|
Merlin - the wizard (wise, powerful)
Locke - the thief (swift, cunning, playful) Merlocke Hoping that I can pull off the witty smart ass who actually knows his shit persona. Plus in there, is the phonetic sound of my real name. :) |
Well, I used to be OshnSoul.....then i left for quite a while, going through transitions in life...then came back...but I forgot my password but decided to start all over with a new name.
After what I've been through and experienced, I understood more about my element- Fire. I am of the Fire element, but I have this deep passion for & connection to water (hence, OshnSoul). To me it represents the many substances of me. Not that I'm a confused person, but I have experienced unbelievable confusion in the past, wondering Who I Was. And the whole Fire/Water thing really hits home for me. |
Many years ago, as a joke I made name tags for a co-worker who was one of my very best friends. "Hello, I'm Craven Morehead" "Hello, I'm Miles Long" etc. We wore them when we went to a strip club while out of town at a convention. Jim wore the Craven Morehead tag. A couple of strippers actually thought that was his real name! :D That was a fun night. One of many. Jim was killed in a plane accident a few years later. I'm using 'his' name here in remembrance of him and the many very good times we shared.

When I first started chatting on IRC when I was 14 my name was Baron_s (A reference to a cool Magic:TG card). I use to read Wizard all the time and I saw an expansion coming out for some game called Lost Eden. Well I liked the name and since there was a girl I knew in our channel named LadyEden, I changed my name to LordEden to piss her off. I started using that as my name for everything unless it was taken, in which I use LostEden. It amazes me that I still use a nickname I've had for 12 years. Nine times of ten I don't have to add numbers to the name to register it so it's nice not many people use variations for the name.
Wow is the only place I don't use the name, I try to make up funny names for my characters (ie. DevineBovine for my Druid, HolyRoller for my dwarfen paladin, and Shammystyle for my Shaman). |

It's good to know you're back in a new incarnation; I'd often wondered where you'd buggered off to. |

wow. that reminds me: Convoy (C.W. McCall, B. Fries, C. Davis) [On the CB] Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck. You gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c'mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, fer shure, fer shure. By golly, it's clean clear to Flag Town, c'mon. Yeah, that's a big 10-4 there, Pig Pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy... Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June In a Kenworth pullin' logs Cab-over Pete with a reefer on And a Jimmy haulin' hogs We is headin' for bear on I-one-oh 'Bout a mile outta Shaky Town I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck. "And I'm about to put the hammer down." [Chorus] 'Cause we got a little convoy Rockin' through the night. Yeah, we got a little convoy, Ain't she a beautiful sight? Come on and join our convoy Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way. We gonna roll this truckin' convoy 'Cross the U-S-A. Convoy! [On the CB] Ah, breaker, Pig Pen, this here's the Duck. And, you wanna back off them hogs? Yeah, 10-4, 'bout five mile or so. Ten, roger. Them hogs is gettin' in-tense up here. By the time we got into Tulsa Town, We had eighty-five trucks in all. But they's a roadblock up on the cloverleaf, And them bears was wall-to-wall. Yeah, them smokies is thick as bugs on a bumper; They even had a bear in the air! I says, "Callin' all trucks, this here's the Duck. "We about to go a-huntin' bear." [Chorus] [On the CB] Ah, you wanna give me a 10-9 on that, Pig Pen? Negatory, Pig Pen; you're still too close. Yeah, them hogs is startin' to close up my sinuses. Mercy sakes, you better back off another ten. Well, we rolled up Interstate 44 Like a rocket sled on rails. We tore up all of our swindle sheets, And left 'em settin' on the scales. By the time we hit that Chi-town, Them bears was a-gettin' smart: They'd brought up some reinforcements From the Illinois National Guard. There's armored cars, and tanks, and jeeps, And rigs of ev'ry size. Yeah, them chicken coops was full'a bears And choppers filled the skies. Well, we shot the line and we went for broke With a thousand screamin' trucks An' eleven long-haired Friends a' Jesus In a chartreuse micra-bus. [On the CB] Ah, Rubber Duck to Sodbuster, come over. Yeah, 10-4, Sodbuster? Lissen, you wanna put that micra-bus in behind that suicide jockey? Yeah, he's haulin' dynamite, and he needs all the help he can get. Well, we laid a strip for the Jersey shore And prepared to cross the line I could see the bridge was lined with bears But I didn't have a dog-goned dime. I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck. "We just ain't a-gonna pay no toll." So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight I says "Let them truckers roll, 10-4." [Chorus] Convoy! Ah, 10-4, Pig Pen, what's your twenty? Convoy! OMAHA? Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there fer shure. Well, mercy Convoy! sakes, good buddy, we gonna back on outta here, so keep the bugs off your glass and the bears off your... Convoy! tail. We'll catch you on the flip-flop. This here's the Rubber Duck on the side. Convoy! We gone. 'Bye,'bye. |
Mine my boyfriend gave to me when I first meet him. We ran into each other at work and he noticed that I had hidden pens all over the workplace. For the longest time that was a little game I played with myself. I thought it was funny. When he discovered I did that he called me magpie and it has stuck ever since.

I needed something bland, something that's rather unnoticeable.
