so they found a use for the segway / orange / whatever. wonder if they´ve lived up to they hype. i think i spent a good year or 2 believing those things didn´t even exist.

Segway would have changed the world if they didn't launch them at $8,000 a pop. They're still amazing technology but they had their chance to blow the world away with it but failed based on the logic of buying am $8,000 scooter.

I never thought there was a way to make the Segway not look stupid, but someone finally did it.

As a side note, the principal at our school last year rode one of these everywhere, and even made it upstairs (only to end up like a cat stuck in a tree). Lazy bastard, but likable. Then this year, the security guy (not sure what his actual job is, if he has one, since he's not a resource officer) for our school, who acts like a complete asshole to the nicest students, inherited that little motherfucker, and just speeds down the halls with it. It would make my life if I could just throw a book in his path and... oooh yeah....

Now that is nifty.

That is a great idea and finally, a truly practical reason for Segways.

Odd to see this thread tonight. I never seen before this afternoon. In the Liverpool Mall in Merida Mexico a security guard slowly pass me on one.

In regards to the OP... I say we give wounded vets whatever they freaking need to make life livable.

i think it's a great idea but as soon as the government gets involved, they'll fuck it up worse than a wet dream...
