Brain scientist documents own stroke
This is a lecture by a really amazing woman with an interesting and unique perspective of right/left brain functions.

My thinking was that the location of the clot had a lot to do with the way in which she experienced the stroke. Left side of the brain, language center. Also, she is a neuroanatomist, that makes her experience quite unique: she could observe her own brain from the inside as it was malfunctioning. (to roughly quote her own words).
My feeling was that this is so amazing! We all spend so much of our lives living in our left brain, but we have two halves!! The right brain is linked to our feelings of being connected, being in the moment (as evidenced by her drifting into "La-la Land" while trying to dial the phone) and that is what all the sages throughout the ages have been telling us: To live in the moment. Now, I'm not saying that we can live in that hemisphere all bloody day. Who'd get any work done?? I think that we can find a balance between being individuals and being Allone. tricky.

Well I found her speech to be very inspirational in a spiritual sense. The human brain used as a visual aid was wicked cool, and if her primary intent is to enlighten people about possible experiences encountered during a stroke, consider me enlightened. Kudos for surviving and recovering as well as she did.
