Hello, Donor
Hello (Your Name Here),
I'd like to thank you personally for donating to the TFP! We've been running on sweat, blood, user donations, and love for over 6 years now. Donations have purchased hardware, paid for the upkeep and hosting of the site, and occasionally (upon strict donor request) bought me beer. I'm always humbled by the generosity that people show when filling out the donation amount. We have no minimum or maximum, but our average donation is (and always has been) $25. That's a lot. And the thing that touches me even more is that everyone chimes in to say that they wish they could give more. As I sit here tonight, entering the latest rounds of donations into the record books and giving people their Donor tags, I feel the need to say something back. Its not how much you give! Its the fact that you DO give that makes me so appreciative. Everyone here appreciates it as well. Its very satisfying to know that this site has staying power. When I've found myself jobless, you guys kept it running. When I've been working, I try not to bug you guys for donations, but a few of you still stand up and tell me you want to contribute. I love that. I also love the random things that you send with your snail mail donations. I've received stickers, a book of stamps, an LP, and many heartfelt letters. I feel like a proud father when that happens. Anyways, this last round of donations raised over $2300. We covered our costs as far as getting our new server set up. We're looking at the beginning of a little "rainy day" fund which could lead to some fun TFP paraphernalia. What do you think about that? Your monetary pledge gives me the energy and enthusiasm to continue to develop this community. Love, Hal

Glad to keep the server (Hal's coke habit) running (no fiending tonight!). I personally feel a bit of pride(shame and disgust) when I can help out someone else who has given me so much (not really that much) when they need it (Smack don't buy it's self!) most. When I can log in and see a community that is really close (buncha retarts and perverts) and truly cares for it's members (and your name was?) it's awe inspiring.
Thank you for my home on the innerwebs (I usually just come here for the porn) Crack

Always glad to help. Personally I wouldn't be in it for the TFP merch, its just not my thing.
I donate for the sake of donating to a good cause. 2300! Impressive. Sadly I know the immense costs of setting up a server, and then to keep it running. The TFP rocks, covers so much ground, so many parts of life. I've even always been open to having small ads if it really is required and would keep the place alive. I know thats a dirty idea to many many people, but it can be done tastefully.

Wish I'd been able to drop some in the donor bin this time around. *sigh* I'll help next time for sure.

I've been using the Internet since I was old enough to reach the keyboard - and I've never found a place like TFP. I'm so glad that I wound up here, and I'm likewise glad that I'm not the only one who loves it.
