stinky shoes

So I don't normally have stinky feet, but I have a pair of shoes that really make my feet smell bad, and the shoes retain the stank as well.

Then I got them wet in the ocean this weekend, I rinsed them out with fresh water and let them sun dry. Now they really smell horrible.

What can I do to get that smell out of the shoes? And what works to prevent my feet from smelling so bad in these shoes? Normally my feet don't smell bad at all....even my girlfriend agrees.

It's really foul....I hate having stinky feet.

awwwwwwwwwww...did you just use fresh water? no soap? use soap...baking soda absorbs odours too...or buy one of those shoe sprays...if all else fails...buy on of those pine tree car freshners, cut out a foot print and use it as insoles....tada!

Just throw those crappy shoes away.... if you're feet don't usually stink it's the shoes...... not your feet, All I do is spray my feet each day with a shot of Tinactin before I put my socks on........ and all I wear is black socks and black leather wingtips...... they soak up the heat like solar panels, but a quick shot of Tinactin fixes me up.....

Baking soda helps, or even corn starch. Gotta kind of wonder if Ashton might be right on this one. It could be a cheap crappy pair of shoes, or...did you wear these particular shoes without socks on? I know that I have to wear socks, or my shoes start to get rather odiferous in no time.

The only pair of shoes of mine that get smelly are my sneakers that I do just about everything in. From going to work, to hiking, to fishing (that's the activity where they start stinking the most), and what not. Most of the time I wear socks, but occasionally if I'm gonna be doing yard work, or fishing I don't wear any socks. If they get rank I throw them in the washer, and wash JUST my shoes like I would any load of laundry (even toss in some bleach if they are really bad). Sometimes after a fishing trip to a not very clean lake I have to wash them twice.

If these are actually shoes you care about I would not go this route, rather baking soda should do the trick. Technically I should throw the above mentioned shoes away, but I'm poor and need every pair of shoes I got to last me as long as possible.

Add a few drops of Lemon oil onto a cotton ball and place into shoes.

they sell these ball things that you just put in your shoes and they make the smell go away. (sports shops have em)
