Post your top X-mas gifts
I was pleasantly surprised this year, since I actively DISCOURAGED everyone I know from buying me absolutely anything.
My girlfriend bought me a bunch of clothes, including a cashmere sweater that's so damn soft I never want to take it off. My two "biggies" though were a Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS, since I do a lot of driving and have a sense of direction on par with Helen Keller playing a game of Marco Polo, and my family chipped in to get me a years subscription to Sirius, since I can typically pick up nothing but Christian Country on FM in the areas that I live and drive to/from. Post up this years fav's! |

Nice score jennaboo!
I wasn't expecting anything at all, but was pleasantly surprised to get a bunch of decorative ornaments for my house for my baby boy. My favorite is the snowshoeing bear with a baby bear in a pack on his back. I also got one of my favorite movie soundtrack albums. I received some great books (forgot how nice more reading material is to receive). It ended up being an excellent Christmas even though I was thinking it would just be another day.

I got about $40 in coffeebucks for our local coffee shop from various sources, plus a little personal coffee maker for when the coffee shop isn't open for my fix. Hooray for coffeebucks.

We tried nabbing a Wii for my nephew, but nobody local had it. At all. We were going to wait and grab one when a GameStop shipment came in, but there was such a fight over them, it looked like the beaches of Normandy. He'll have to wait for the post-holiday rush. |

My daddy restores/refinishes old steamer trunks, this past June I saved one from a garage sale that belonged to Dave's great great grandfather, who had packed the trunk with his belongings when he married his first wife in 1885. I gave it to my daddy to work on and he gave it back to me monday as my christmas present. Over the years the trunk lost its two removable trays, daddy made new ones
Before After This has the bottom tray taken out so you can see to the bottom

My daughter finally figured our this toilet training business - so 4 days of not having to change diapers has been about the best Christmas present I've had in years!
Other than that - some books, a couple of gift certificates, a Tranmere Rovers soccer shirt (they're my second team), a DVD of a favourite TV show and some chocolates.

I got adorable earrings, a very nice purple sweater from Anthropologie, headbands and hair clips and a cool cubic picture frame from my mother-in-law. She's so sweet :-) Grandma gave me PJ's, as is the tradition. For all of us I got Cirque du Soleil tickets
Tomorrow is Christmas with MY parents in AZ and they have a tendency to go a little overboard with the gift-giving. I have a feeling I'll be needing another suitcase for the flight home

I got brand new K&N shiny-type filters for my Sabre to sift the air and oil.
Yay for pricey things that I'll actually use instead of stare at all year. Quote:

Crap... TotalMILF's earrings just reminded me that I bought my wife some nice earrings but forgot to give them to her. I think the little bag they were in went into the trash with the scraps from the wrapping paper...
I am going to have to check when I get home...

I got a Carhartt coat, the style I've wanted for ever... I got one two years ago and never wore it because it wasn't the style I wanted. A concert ticket, my sister and her boyfriend have the others, an electric toothbrush that is timed for each quadrant of your mouth, odd-and-end clothes, pajama's, gift cards.... and the best gift..... drum roll.... a hobo pot and chili mix from an uncle. WTF was he thinking????

I didn't want anything for Christmas. I advertised this at every opportunity. And yet, people insist on buying me stuff. Mum bought a new leather jacket for me. It's nice, and warmer than my other one (which I wear year-round, generally). So I guess I can't complain.

The best thing I got this year was spending Christmas with my mom. This was the first time in about 10 years that I was able to spend actual Christmas day with her. I also received a couple of gift cards and a diamond necklace. Nothing fancy for me. (: |

My best gift was The Marvel Encyclopedia: The Definitive Guide To The Marvel Universe.
Also, cologne and aftershave set, a Vidalia vege-chopper (wtf?), 2 LED flashlights (wtf? pt. deux) fudge (yum) and a used ball cap.
