The Coalition between Water and a Song

No, this is not an appraisal of Georg Frederick Handle’s “Water Music” composition. This is much more important than that.

I have a question: Do you feel compelled to sing out once you don the bathing clothes and hop (or slither) into the lake or the ocean? No? Neither do I. Now let’s be clear about this next question, Gene Kelly was paid a whole lot of money to “sing in the rain” (so we’ll exempt him), but do you, yourself, voluntarily get the urge to sing as soon as the down-pour gets under way? No? Nor do I. So why in hell is it that every time I get into the shower I start singing Bob Marley songs? “...... ambush in the night ...... du-du-du-du-du ..... don’t work for no CIA ... du-du-du-du .... all together now …..du-du-du-du .....”

A very good question.

I do in fact sing in the rain. But then, I sing often (something about quantity over quality, I guess). As a corollary I also find myself singing in the shower pretty much every day; I've heard it theorized that the acoustics of a typical bathroom are such that they encourage it, but I have no idea if there's any merit to that.

Hey! That actually sounds reasonable! It's like, we drop the soap and say "Oof!" ... and then, "That sounded good!" " ..... They don't want to see us live together, da-da-da-da ..... !"

I'm buying that theory, Marty.

I don't sing in the shower that often. That doesn't mean I don't rock out...

Gene Kelly didn't sing in the rain, he sang, "Singing in the Rain" in the milk because rain doesn't film well.

I don't sing. ever.

I don't sing in the shower. I do occasionally while driving though, if no one else is near me on the road that is

I don’t sing ”out loud” as much as I used to but when I do …. shit I sound good! But I wonder, when I look at our version of TV “Idol” so many completely useless people who actuallty think they can sing!!!!! It’s difficult to believe that they submitted an application for try-outs! Lord, please have mercy!
