Strange Famous: Mandy Moore isn't a "nice looking girl"...she's ridiculously cute.

Anyway, I really dislike emo music but there's this one song that was pretty popular over the last year that I almost liked. You see, I didn't like the program that was playing on NPR (Prairie Home Companion...ugh) and there was nothing else on the radio, so I was stuck listening to some random Top 40 station. The song came on and I immediately recognized it, but it was the first time I was forced to actually pay attention, and gosh darnit, I actually thought it was pretty enjoyable at first. Then the chorus came and I thought it sucked and ruined the song - but to this day I still assert that the beginning of the song before the chorus could have been a good song. Then I was listening to Sound Opinions and found out that the song was included on Jim DeRogatis' 2007 mix-tape, so I must not be alone in my enjoyment of at least part of the song. And if Jim DeRogatis has the courage to admit he finds it at least partially enjoyable, then I do too.

That song: Fall Out Boy - “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs”

Even the name is stupid! Worse yet, the video is a steaming pile of crap and to top it off the band is from a very wealthy Chicago neighborhood (median family income of $122,515), so they fit completely into the emo stereotype. But still, the beginning before the chorus showed real potential.

Butt stairs.

I have this uncanny ability to walk perfectly in stride with a woman on a staircase who possesses a particularly nice ass, so that my head remains at ass-height for the duration of the climb. I love it, and I'll never stop doing it.

I love watching Dirty Dancing and Ever After when I'm having a "girl" night. I also dance to Justin Timberlake.. in my underwear.

Okay, the dancing in my underwear is a regular thing. And I don't usually feel guilty about it.

Guilty... things like personal failure in my professional life and intimate relationships.

Ugh, I dunno... I should be able to come up with some relatively smart-ass comment for this and I'm shootin' blanks like a neutered Chihuahua.

My guilty pleasure is beating myself up inside because I'm not good enough.

Mmm, negativity.

I suppose I'm defining "guilty" in this case (and in this thread) as "something I wouldn't usually admit to a stranger." Perhaps "embarrassing pleasures" would be a better way to put it.

I don't know anyone who hasn't beaten themselves up inside for not being "good enough."

for me it would have to be gambling, I would rather gamble than anything. And there is definitely the guilt when I lose big. The Casino, the races, our local Bingo Club, Card rooms, any and all of them.

oh, and I just made myself a grilled cheese. lol

Blasting music from the Naruto soundtrack (particularly a track called Go Go Naruto! http://www.narutofan.com/downloads/2/music13) while I'm driving or riding my bicycle.

I killed another girl with a chainsaw, I had to, she almost got away and uh someone else there I can't remember maybe a model, but she's dead too. And Paul Allen. I killed Paul Allen with an axe in the face, his body is dissolving in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen. I don't want to leave anything out here. I guess I've killed maybe 20 people, maybe 40. I have tapes of a lot of it, uh some of the girls have seen the tapes. I even, um... I ate some of their brains, and I tried to cook a little. Tonight I, uh, I just had to kill a LOT of people.

I've watched the movie and read the book so many times it just feels like remembering things I did. Like, I could pass a polygraph saying, "Yeah, so I was in my tighty whities and tennis shoes chasing the hooker with the chainsaw and I decided that the best way to get her was to simply drop it on her as she was running down the stairs. You should have seen it. It was beautiful."

But don't worry, it's tempered by the fact that I'm a non-violent liberal.

Guilty Pleasure meaning something that I enjoy, but would be embarrassed for others to know?

Well, I will listen to Garth Brooks if I hear his song on the radio. Although I will never deny liking any country music, there are a few songs I don't mind hearing.
I enjoy Agatha Christie mysteries even though they are for old ladies I guess.
As embarrassing and pointless as it is, I really enjoy watching the entertainment news. Brit watch is so entertaining to me for some odd reason.
I used to be a huge snoop. Then I found out some things I didn't want to. That kinda killed the pleasure in that.

Guilt comes easily to me about many things. Music isn't one of them; I think my taste is eclectic enough that it's beyond feeling guilty or embarrassed by it. As for the rest...

> The Internet
> Kit Kats, Reese's peanut butter cups, peanut M&Ms and Snickers
> Mindlessly organizing and rearranging crap, especially bookshelves and kitchen cabinets, and especially in the middle of the night or when I'm pressed for time and should be doing something else
> Making lists
> Purging material posessions, except books and clothes that I probably hang onto for too long
> Paper towels
> Hot showers
> TP (I like my bum clean)
> Printed t-shirts used to be a big guilty pleasure of mine, until we moved into this house and ran out of room for them all
> Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
> Fantasizing about a clean, well-organized and well-designed home
> Daydreaming in general
> Such television gems as Lost, Mystery Diagnosis, Man vs. Wild, Survivorman, Small Space, Big Style, The Wire, The L Word, and football (college preferred)
> Dairy products in general
> Funfetti® cupcakes
> Cookie dough and cake batter
> Being judgmental

And I hate Tom Brady's hair.

I do that, too!! Not in the parking lot, though, definitely down the aisle.

I also like to zig zag on the highway when there's no one around and the kids are in the car. They go nuts!

Teaching them to do hilarious, goofy stuff. My 13-year old can yell, "Huepa" (Spanish/Colombian for 'hey', but in a happy party sort of way) and other odd words out the window of the car.

This, only I feel guilty only when I hurt someone accidentally. I guess I'm not enlightened enough to feel guilt when I do it on purpose.
