Stay safe after the quake, those of you who were in it.

5.6?
Do Californians even get out of bed for a 5.6?

I felt it but it was pretty weak. Nothing even fell over, but it lasted quite a long time. I mentioned it to my friend while playing Halo 3 and he felt it too in Santa Cruz. We lost the match but I blame the earthquake.

Thankfully most of my 'neighbors' (including my godson and his sister), didn't get out of bed for our recent 7.1 quake.
Even better, they weren't even home in the South Island where the quake hit that weekend; instead they were in the North Island with their family and me.

Safety tip: When I lived in CA. I made sure I did NOT have a picture framed in glass over the head of our bed.
Also we reinforced/secured our bookshelves and the TV cabinet from the back to the walls. I just heard that Alaska got hit today with a 5."Something" Quake.

Things also not to put above your bed living in California: an authentic 17th century guillotine, 23 cinder blocks, manure, your hemophiliac baby, that Highlander sword you bought from King of Knives when you were way into Highlander, a life-sized crucifix, a chandelier, a grand piano, and much more.

Scarred from childhood memories of the neighborhood crumbling around us during the Northridge earthquake & countless aftershocks, I don't think I'll ever be comfortable sleeping under a window (much less a glass-framed painting or a guillotine).
