Famous People Around Us

So, how many famous people do you think we have here at the wonderful TFP?

And what famous people would you want to come join in on the kick-ass community that we have?

I would love to see people like Ethan Hawk, Kevin Spacey, the Beastie Boys, Rob Zombie, and more of the underground/artsy type of celebrities here. It would be good to have that part of life represented… Now it’s mostly porn freaks, art students and older men that still think like they’re 21. And I love all of you.

"hey bud, how's it goin? check out this awesome site..."

yeah, uh, it's not that easy

Look at how huge Fark is and the best they can get is Wil Wheaton and apparently sometimes Christopher Walken (but he never makes his presence known so he doesn't count)

I suspect that, secretly, SecretMethod is actually Ted Nugent.

If anyone here was Ted Nugent it would either be BoCo or Sixate.

Jerry Seinfeld is a funny guy.

Maybe if he started frequenting the forums we could discuss a new Seinfeld season.

A couple of interesting questions. It made me think about what the value of TFP is. It doesn't make a difference to me whether there are celebrities on TFP or not. As long as there are interesting, intelligent people who post, that's enough for me.

Celebrities- take 'em or leave 'em as far as I'm concerned.

If you're halfway intelligent and have something interesting to say, I don't care if you're famous of not.

That would make a whole lot more sense if I was at all fucking funny.

Except that Seinfeld hasn't been funny since he cut off his mullet in like the fourth season.

The funny thing is, Celebs are just people. Actors, comedians, whatever, put on their stage face and that may not be their real self. I heard from a waitress that Eric Clapton was cheap as hell tipping for a huge party she served once.

You might love a character and hate the actor and vice versa.

Actually, if we have any celebs lurking, I would much rather get to know them as their screen name before I ever (if ever) found out who they really were. That way I could like or dislike them for themselves and not their celebrity.

As an example, I have a friend who grew up with Swanee (sp?) Hunt, of the Hunt Oil fortune. He told me that she was really really nice, but as she got older, she realized that some people only liked her for her family fortune. Consequently, she found it hard to make friends because she never was sure of a potential friend's intentions.

Imagine how THAT would suck.

It seems like some are just "real people", but others seem a little like narcissistic, neurotic attention-hounds. My boss was talking to a local baseball player who knew and went to parties with some hollywood types, and he said they just couldn't get over themselves. Everything was about them and what they have done and how much people love them. Bleh.
