Quick question
Hey, I'm kinda new here, and I'm just wondering what the little "Upright" above my avatar means, if anything.
Just curious

What ngdawg said. Once you've demonstrated an appropriate level of tiltednes it'll change to something more appropriate.

Didn't the old tag for new members used to be "rookie"? Now I notice that this is tecoyah's tag...weird.
Welcome to tfp eavN. It's nice to have a fellow planeteer on the boards. Although, perhaps my knowledge is limited. I only figured out last year that the character that had the heart ring wasn't a girl, much to my surprise might I add. |

This may be my ever-failing memory and retrieval thereof, but from what I scarcely remember of that animated syndication and the synopsis, these few chosen characters were given 'rings of power' by some sort of greater being for the purpose of aiding the many disasters that occur around the globe. When the powers were combined, however, this integration of power produced a superhero of sots, under the moniker of 'Captain Planet'. For whatever reason at this point, I can only make out that there was a van, a monkey, a specified ring that produces torrents of water, and in addition, one that perhaps produced gusts of swirling wind. From what I recall, and therefore attribute to, I had in my collective thoughts that the one with the "Heart Ring" was either a little Mexican or Indian boy, based on the facts that he had both a darker complexion, and seemed to enjoy the company of a small primate on his shoulder. What do you make of it?

I think that's pretty much all correct. As I recall the main motive was mother earth created or gave these rings to kids to help stop pollution and save the environment. I believe she chose a kid from each continent or some such. The only other thing I remember is that the seemingly androgynous, from my point of view, heart character was from South America and that he had a monkey.

Thanks guys for clearing that up, and a nice take on it by redlemon
And Jetstream, yeah, there was a ring of love, and I'm pretty certain it was on a little Mexican boy with feminine hair. AND, I think I recall some large baddie with piggish features that the producers cunningly decided to name "Piggy", or at least something like that. *edit* Thanks albania, I just read what you posted - it wasn't only me who thought the Mexican was a girl!
