Who would you pick?

I saw a website the other day that posed an interesting question - if you could kill one person and get away with the crime who would you kill? The site is called killoneperson but it doesn't show results. Who would you kill? Why did you choose that person? I wonder if anyone has a similar vote as me.

albania 08-07-2007 04:02 PM

Generally, if you ask others a question in a forum it's polite to also answer it yourself. I wouldn't choose anyone, I can not justify to myself taking another person's life.

Push-Pull 08-07-2007 04:10 PM

Is there people I'd like to kill on occasion? Sure.

But while I'm not religious to any great extent, I feel that 'tis better to use the power to save (or in this case not take) life. I've got waaaay too much good Karma saved to screw it up now.

bleux300 08-07-2007 04:18 PM

My answer

I'd kill Bin Laden. He has caused too much pain in this world and his death would be a blow to the morale of his extremist fighters

Jetée 08-07-2007 05:55 PM

A hard message to hear

The 'pain' Osama bin Laden is minute compared to the thousands of other faceless culprits that still continue to persecute human lives to this day.

You ask, why are these people not brought to justice as well? Because people with the mindset of issuing blame on a sole individual that the media has decided to target allows them to remain lurking in the desolate shadows, continuing their heinous persecutions of others. Regardless, I wouldn't want to murder him, them, that guy exercising, that woman eating ice cream, that tyke eating a frog, that serial murderer in the swamps of El Salvador ready to carve up his next victim, or anyone else, even if I could be absolved of the crime and be all the better for it. It is all a matter of common human decency that allows us to at least be mindful of the perhaps misplaced thought that there is not someone plotting to kill you. Sometimes we are wrong in that delusion, history does teach us that, but it at least give us a semblance of the policy that keeps most satified with the day-to-day life; "We don't ask, we don't tell".

I honestly do not see the point of this thread at all but it being a half-hearted attempt to incite inflammatory responses; with or, most assuredly without, just cause to condemn a person to death. If we go about thinking such thoughts, how much good does it do us if we are now engulfed within the mindset of those wretches we seek to kill. I am sure those that feel they have the right to slay another human being have the mentality that they too, are justified, and have pondered upon the justification of it all beforehand.

This reminded me of a song that a band played when we lived in Columbus. It was called If I Could Murder the Right Man. Put out around 9/11 when other bands were making similar albums, example Sleater Kinney.

The lyric went: If I could murder the right man, would I buy my way into heaven.

There are different types of murders. Revenge is what I generally think of when I hear the word murder. I couldn't murder anyone unless I was in a rage and had a good rationale for it. Anyone can lie to themselves and pretend it's the right thing to do.

However, if it's a murder that will save other people from harm or death, then I guess that would be logical. But then again: Anyone can lie to themselves and pretend it's the right thing to do. Who can say who deserves to die and who deserves to live?

StanT 08-07-2007 06:17 PM

I don't wish death to anyone in particular.

If you change the question to treading water in an outhouse for a few hours, the list gets quite lengthy.

Baraka_Guru 08-07-2007 06:39 PM

I would not wish to kill anyone, even if I could get away with it.

But if you want an answer, here's a figurative one:
If I met the Buddha, I'd kill the Buddha.

Infinite_Loser 08-07-2007 08:29 PM

I'm with the pacifist crowd. I just couldn't bring myself to kill another human being.

Willravel 08-07-2007 08:40 PM

Not gonna happen. I'd sooner kill myself. Frankly, I'd be concerned about anyone who named a real person, living or dead. It's pretty sick, honestly.

MexicanOnABike 08-07-2007 08:49 PM

edit: removed answer because the thread cannot be taken seriously.

xepherys 08-07-2007 09:29 PM

I don't see anyone deserving to die defenselessly, but personally I'll just have to take a raincheck on this question until the proper person presents him/herself.

Will, I disagree. It's human nature, albeit pretty base, to have those feelings now and then. In many cultures, where blood feuds can last centuries between families, it's pretty typical. We westerners like to put ourselves above that. But frankly, it's just human.

KungFuGuy 08-07-2007 09:30 PM

is this website a sign up sheet for an FBI watch list or something?

I can't think of anyone in particular, but I believe every single person has it within themselves to kill if under circumstances that demanded it.

Izathatch 08-08-2007 12:24 AM

I could easily kill a human being if needed but there is no one I would pick since I simply have no reason to kill a single person.

Uh-oh, did someone say the "h.n." term? :uhh:

Plan9 08-08-2007 03:41 AM

Describing human nature is like describing a bowel movement.

It fluctuates given input.

Crack 08-08-2007 05:58 AM

I'd kill Jetstream.

or Crompsin

or Baraka_Guru

or willravel ...

or bleux300

See where I am going? It's fun to "day dream" about these kind of questions, but when people are left to their own devices what you assume the correct course of action will be, almost never is. My real answer?

Jetstream.. :-P

mixedmedia 08-08-2007 06:09 AM

As 'most always it seems, I agree with Baraka_Guru. I would kill the Buddha.

Manic_Skafe 08-08-2007 06:39 AM

Come to really think about it, I wouldn't kill anyone. But there certainly are a few people that I'd have tortured slowly and brought back into good health, like all of my old bosses...

And good luck to those who are soon to be disappeared because they voted for the president.

Jinn 08-08-2007 07:22 AM

Sounds like a great way to draw the wrong kind of attention to you.

LoganSnake 08-08-2007 07:41 AM

The leader of the Illuminati just to see if it would change the way we live.

debaser 08-08-2007 01:22 PM

I would kill you.

Yes, you.

Mo0k 08-08-2007 01:29 PM

Can I line my person up in front of some other people and hope the bullet passes through?

World's King 08-08-2007 07:58 PM

Wow. You people are boring.

I have too many to name. So I'm just gonna say... Everyone.

cyklone 08-08-2007 09:23 PM

I think there are many who deserve to die, but I have too much respect for myself to become the one that does it.

I have been so angry with someone that I have wished them a very long life - long enough to reap everthing that they have sown.

If you met the buddha on the road he/she would be an imposter, but even then, would they deserve death.

Fire 08-08-2007 10:10 PM

It was written by muniyori (sp) that the sword that removes evil is the sword that gives life- and I heartily agree with the concept, the text gives as example an evil and unrepentant warlord who oppresses the masses- so if it were someone evil that was in direct control of a group engaged in wanton evil, then it would be justified- such people are hard to find and truly arise seldom- even bin laden, were he killed, would likely not even have an impact on terrorism, except to give them a martyr - that said, some people deserve to die, and are beyond redemption (some may disagree with me) there are currently no such people in my life, so for me the question is moot.....

Lady Sage 08-09-2007 04:16 PM

I would off a famous person whom I can not name for another year or so.
