Forum Consolidation & New Rule - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Just in case you missed it, there is a site-wide announcement at the top of every forum regarding recent forum consolidation and a new rule which is being implemented. Please read it and feel free to PM a mod or admin with any questions you have, or respond in this thread.

To save some time, no we're not going to restore the forums that have been consolidated. We know some of you will be unhappy about this, but the decision has already been made. The two main reasons for this are 1) the more spread out discussions are, the less discussion it seems is taking place, making the site seem relatively stagnant, and 2) by having more discussion in fewer places, it brings all of us closer together in a virtual sense, making it more likely that we will come across and meet new people as well as participate in discussion we may not have otherwise seen.

So, rather than complaints, I'd prefer to see discussion take place to help us make the best of this. We're not doing this to discourage discussion of topics, and we want to encourage you all to continue posting your parenting, pets, etc discussions in the appropriate places.

As for the new rule, I'll simply stress again that if a mod edits your post to use the [hide] command, the contents of your post do not change. I really can't see why anyone would have complaints about this, but feel free to leave comments on this subject as well.

List of forum changes:

Tilted Pets has been merged with Tilted Life
Tilted Parenting has been merged with Tilted Life
Tilted Health & Fitness has been merged with Tilted Life
Tilted Travel has been merged with Tilted Life
Tilted Trampoline has been merged with Member's Playground
Tilted Canada has been merged with Tilted Nonsense*
Tilted Australia has been merged with Tiled Nonsense*

*These forums were merged with Tilted Nonsense because that was the best one-stop solution at the moment. I know it's already been said, but it bears repeating: let us know about threads which are better suited elsewhere, such as Tilted Politics, and we will move them.

If you're having a hard time finding anything, remember to try the site's search function. It should work fine for anything posted in the past 14 months. If that doesn't work, you can also try using google search with site:tfproject.org added. This method will work for any of the public forums (so it will not work for Tilted Trampoline or Member's Playground).

I have to confess to not noticing, as my starting point to browsing is always www.tfproject.org/tfp/search.php?do=getnew

The consolidation sounds like a great idea though.

Tilted Canada, as a whole, doesn't necessarily go in nonsense. Let me know about threads which are better suited somewhere else and I'll move them to forums which do show in the new post searches

I was just being a bit of a ponce. I'd personally rather have things compartmentalized to a point. I do understand how some categories are too specific, though. TFP features a very wide variety of discussions, but the frequency of those discussions varies widely. We can have Tilted Europe buzzing one week and silent the next.

I like this idea. The Best way to get more people to post their art is this. As long as the subtitle explain clearly: for anything you create as far as art or photography.

but i don't like the nonsense mixup of the other threads. Why can't we bring back the new POSTS to include everything? I really like to see all the new posts of all the forums in there. when i miss 2 or 3, I will never see those forums. I have to force myself to check nonsense now and its a fucking piss off.

Let us choose which forum to include or exclude in new posts please!
