Pick a word.

I want everyone to think of just one word in the English Language that they could use to describe the epitome of what you feel to be your best feature; a word describing what you would be remembered for. After choosing your word explain why you chose it. ( this could be interesting )

Sacrifice; I chose this word because I'd be willing to sacrifice myself for a belief or a cause that I strongly believed in. I'm not a martyr, but I would give myself or anything I had to protect someone I cared for. I also chose this word because I would find it very hard for me to sacrifice certain things; not objects or desires, more so ambitions and beliefs.

So TFP lets see what you can come up with.

"Unabashed" would be my word.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/unabashed

I don't claim to be simple or easy to understand, but I think I have a lot less interest in disguising who I am or being ashamed of who I am than most.

Redlemon 08-01-2007 04:42 AM

I am "liminal". I have always been a member of different groups and social circles, but often on the edge of them; I can't say I'm really at the core of any group. And, I am in transition from one career to a very different career.

At some point in time, I get what I want....I'm also capable of beating a dead horse.

Whether friend, family, whatever, when someone is close to me, I will stick by and do anything for them and it will take a hell of a lot to push me away.

I'm right there with you. My friends know I may not be around a lot, and I may keep to myself, but if any one of them needed me, I'd be there. This goes for family and even some of my past employers (I've been known to help out when they've needed it). I can also take quite a beating before I'd leave them (but not so much that it sacrifices my dignity or well-being if you catch my drift).

Martian 08-19-2007 12:05 PM

My personal motto is 'whatever you do, do it in style.' I think I do pretty well living up to that. People tell me I do anyway.

DaveOrion 08-19-2007 12:07 PM

Steady.

In every sense of the word, I'm told.

abaya 08-20-2007 07:41 AM

Enthusiast.

That would be me, in high form. When I get excited about something, look out. This characteristic has earned me "Most Inspirational" and such awards in the past, but at the same time, it's almost scary how quickly I spring into action and remain in motion. Once I am signed up for something I love, there is just no end in sight.

In average or low form? Well, that entails a whole other vocabulary.

albania 08-20-2007 07:44 AM

Flibbertigibbet. It means silly person, and from what I’ve read in most instances it refers to women. I found it in a rhyming dictionary. It doesn’t really describe me at all, especially since I’m not a woman; I just like the word so goddamn much (that and crux, but I don’t get to use crux much). Personally, I think the crux of the matter is that with over 500,000 words in the English language it seems so sad to limit yourself to just one.

Fire 08-20-2007 11:24 PM
