Well, heres whats going on, last october I fell down, and screwed up my L4-L5 disc. I'm battliong to get workers comp to cover me, but its gonna take months for that to happen. In the meantime, I don't have any money for medical treatment, or prescriptions, or even just to live. I'm looking at eviction. I don't know anyone in this area (I'm from NY, thats 3000 miles away) and I'm just completely stuck. I feel like I'm just going crazy, like I am going to start smashing something or burst into tears at any moment. I really don't know what to do. Doctors wont see me, I cnt get my prescriptions, the problem is progressively getting worse and the last time I did see the doc, he was worried that the damage would be permanent.

I'm flipping out.

Have you spoken to a lawyer? Most injury lawyers will make sure that you get seen by doctors etc.

no but my injury lawyer had sent me to many doctors that didn't ask me for any money up front. the only thing i had to pay for was prescriptions.

I've been through the same thing with workers comp......long story short, Good Luck . I'm an independent contractor, so I work for myself, own the company, so I was screwed with WC.
You probably know alot of the tricks to help with the pain already, besides oxy's. The one that helped me the most was sleeping on a very firm mattress. I eventually bought a select comfort mattress, but before that I slept on the floor...no shit You can try the hottest shower you can stand, then go to as cold as you can stand, as long as you dont have any heart problems.......a heart attack would really ruin your day
I wish I had something more to tell ya.....I've been dealing with chronic pain for 5 years. Send me a pm if you'd like and I'll hook you up with a site with very helpful people in this matter, who know much more than I do about comp, and lawyers, and coping with chronic pain. The admin is an asshole though.........

chronic pain absolutely blows, I have been dealing with it for many years, try smoking pot it's the cheapest way to get pain relief. I severed my spinal cord @3-4 and am all screwed up pain wise. Fortunately for me I have good ins. and understanding doc, I was smoking when the pain got real bad and it really helped alot. Read online about Marinol a derivative of cannabis, I told my doc about it and he hooked me up. Unfortunately It's very expensive but luckily my ins. pays for it. If you want pm me and I have other ideas too.

Oh, I got a lawyer. I cant wait to goto trial and get this whole thing behind me.

As for the pot, I would, but infortunately the only bud around here is awful brick-weed, and to top it all off, they want 60 a quarter, freaking highway robbery. Getting my medical card would just be unwanted attention, since theres really nowhere where I can find the good nonsense. Any TF'ers in Denver?

I just got back from the ER, I went in part because I ran out of meds, the doctor that was oncall was the one I fired because hes a pompass ass, and he refused to refill my scripts. *sigh* I can't wait to sue that ass.

I cant even smoke when I'm really hurting, it makes me more aware of the pain I'm in. I know everyone is different, their body chemistry, metabolism, and mental state, but I can never enjoy the buzz when my back is giving me fits......
$60 a quarter for brickweed??? Outrageous....I get the AK-47(hydro-chronic-whatever you want to call it) for $50 a 1/4 and it usually will last me months since I smoke so little. 2 hits and the worlds a better place to be.........
