The thing that makes this special and unique is that it allows for multiple touch input. Until this, single touch input was all that had been developed.
The Multi-touch Input Screen's development seems to have began at NYU. The guys involved have since formed their own company. Here is also an informative video made for Popular Mechanics. I had no idea Microsoft was in the picture now. Thanks for the post! |

I cannot help but think that innovation has gone to the wayside in favor of the "oh, how f@*&%! awesome would it be to have this (device) do___and ___and ___and ___and ___and would you believe____?" factor.
It serves no purpose than to take existing technology and give it some flair, bells, and whistles. I want my flying car! It has been 7 years after the fact of the prediction from 69 years ago! It is about time, don't you think? ____ ____ (flying car) ____
