Need help to plan a trip to LAS VEGAS!
Need some help to plan a trip to Las Vegas. What to see? Whats worth to do? Tips/Pointers to make it an enjoyable trip. We are going in id July and only thing that needs planning now is a good deal on a hotel deal, renting a car and to make a itinerary plan for stuff to do. I already got the plane tkts.
It will be from July 18th - 24th so maybe we can look to see what activities are going on during those Specific times if possible. Also may go to Grand Canyon from there after we rent the car so will need to get advice and deal packages on that if possible. Any good guides to share some websites or resources online to book events or help me look around for some and I will purchase with your direction. Theres a lot of information out there, and its easy to get overwhelmed. I just want to save money where I can and find deals since I really have few months to plan this and to plan it WELL. Many Thanks, |

Vegas in July is hot. Really hot. There's not much to do that's outside and enjoyable. Golf is honestly not that much fun unless your either really good or used to the heat (and maybe not even then).
That said, you should plan on indoor activities or things outside the valley. Hoover Dam is pretty neat, and they have tours. You can also rent boats on Lake Mead and explore it if you want. I think they even rent houseboats overnight. In Vegas itself, I'd suggest staying by the pool during the day and hitting the casinos at night. That's when they're fun anyway. As far as guidebooks, etc., I don't know of any that are actually any good. I'd shop the various hotels for the best deal. Since I've recommended pools, my favorites (in order) are: Mandalay Bay (The Hotel at Mandalay actually has the best), Hard Rock, Mirage, Caesars, Flamingo Hilton, MGM. But most of those are because there are, ahem, interesting people to watch. They've also got some neat water activities too. Knowing a little more about what you're looking for would be helpful. For instance, if you want to go rent guns at the gun range (including fully automatic), I know where you can do that.

good website
http://www.vegas.com/index.html The outside bar/club between Harrahs and the Venetian is fun for a change of pace. Bartenders put on a good show. Usually has live entertainment, even in the afternoon. Think its called Club Carnaval or Carnaval Court or some variation of that. You can spend hours walking through the shopping areas at Caesars and the Venetian and it won't cost you a cent. I know there's a food court at the Venetian that has very reasonable prices for food. But if you really want a great meal and don't mind paying a little more eat at Canaletto in the Venetian. Stay away from the high end hotels for gambling if you want to find a low stakes table. At night its hard to find even a $3 blackjack table in the name hotels. But there are other places that have that. |

My favorite things were renting harleys and riding through the valley of fire, a helicopter ride over grand canyon, a magic show, and obviously the hoover dam and some gambling

2900 E. Tropicana It's about 2 miles from The Strip as I remember it. Definitely cab time if you aren't renting a car. It's also expensive.

I'll be playing the World Series of Poker this year. I loathe the desert heat. I'm considering bringing some maxi-pads for my armpits in case I have to walk anywhere.
