Searching for the perfect brew!

You talk about fireworks!

Ok, I found this on the net and almost posted this in that forum but decided to come here instead.

I've seen fireworks and lightning over lake Michigan many times, having spent most of my summers on the lake, sorry no pictures although I probably do have some somewhere.

Isn't it the most awesome sight! No man made fireworks display can compete with nature.

Has anyone else seen this? Got pictures? Please share, whether they be lightning, fireworks or hopefully both.

Awesome photo! Something about it feels photoshopped but that's probably just because the photo is so odds against capturing it...

I have no photos of fireworks, though I have just been through Chinese New Year and it seemed like every night was another fireworks show.

One of the coolest fireworks shows I had the opportunity to see was out in San Francisco Bay, out in front of Fisherman's Wharf. We were staying at a hotel in the vicinity with a view of the bay from a large balcony, so we spent the evening of the Fourth on our balcony. Out in the bay they had a few barges stationed at intervals for the fireworks show. Each barge shot off the same pattern of fireworks, in sync with the others. As the show went on, fog began to roll in through the Golden Gate, taking over the first barge, and closing in on the second. It was beautiful to see the echo of fireworks in the fog, turning the shapes of the fog into magnificent colored cloud sculptures, and to see the other barge within sight shooting off its fireworks into the clear.

It was as if man and nature worked in perfect concert that night to make for a spectacular show.

You guys are missing the most amazing thing about that photo.

See the white smudge in the sky just about dead-center in the photo? That's Comet McNaught.

This photo first surfaced as the Astronomy Photo of th Day for February 5, 2007 .

That photo is actually a three-photo panorama, digitally altered to reduce the red glare from the fireworks. That means that the lightning burst, the firework explosion, and the shutter click didn't actually all happen at the same time, cool though that would have been. Still, it's a very arresting picture, with three remarkable phenomena in the sky.

this was posted about 100 times on tmbo.org. I think it was determined that it was 'shopped. I can't really remember but either way it's a pretty cool pic.

I read about that picture. Fireworks, comet, lightning. It is photoshopped but only to stitch at least two, maybe three photos together. All were taken almost simultaneously.

Very cool.

I think the fireworks I make in my basement are more fun than pro shows in a way. I can take down small trees with the big ones.

Ok, I have to ask, how do you make fireworks in your basement?

Is this how you earned your username?
