hola, so i came across this video:

and i thought...Wow, what a biting satire of ultra right wingers...until i found out that they aren't joking...

like..there is a list of safe bands..and gay bands..on that page...

so i thought..hmm, what if...what if i spread this around as satire...

so i wrote to the bandleader this little message:
Oh my dear God!!!! I love your website and your message. This is the perfect satire against the ultra right wing christians like Pat Robertson and Ann Coulter. I love it. I mean, how else are they to know just how ignorant they sound until someone portrays them in perfect satire. I often use humor to get a point across, but wow, you guys take that to the extreme.

I love the video most of all. I mean, it is so over the top and extremely homophobic that, if i didn't know better, i'd think the singer was questioning his own sexuality. I mean, it's a perfectly ironic song that shows just how ignorant some people are. It's wonderful, I think you should be featured on liberal blogs everywhere to show the likes of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and Ann Coulter just how ignorant they often sound.

Keep up the good work, I'll be sending your video around to all my liberal friends to get a great laugh.

Ummm... Yeah... Even though I don't like homosexuality, I wouldn't go so far as to make a song called "God Hates a Fag", as I don't think that's very Christian-like...

This can't be real. Looking at this as a joking matter it is not so bad, but in a serious one I am offended. I am a Christian and I can tell you that God definitely does not hate "fags". Watching that just made me mad. I bet there are a lot of people out there who would watch that and then say "You know, those bloody christians." I think that it is people like this that give everyone else the bad name. Most people seem to brand groups by the few extreme members that it may have.

My connection is too slow to view it, but I know the bunch, and trust me; it's not fake.

"God hates Fags" is the tagline of the infamous Westboro Baptist "Church" of Topeka, KS. The Paterfamilias, one Fred Phelps, is famous not only for his insane intolerance but also for filing so many harassing lawsuits against his critics (He was a lawyer before becoming a minister) that he was eventually disbarred. That hasn't stopped the suits, however, since most of his children are lawyers as well.

Several years ago, two of his older kids "went off the Reservation" and told a truly horrifying story of growing up in his house, details of which (such as forcing his entire family, including young children, to compete in Marathons) are backed up by neighbors and members of the community were they lived.

The man is a head-case, but sadly, this isn't fake.

Personally I do not care what anyone does, it is your choice and yours alone and between you and G-d.

But I will say that in the Bible it does call gay sex an abomination. Again in my book it is not my place or anyone place to judge that and I have friends who are gay. Yet my viewpoint of gay sex is from the Torah cause that is my personal belief. I do not comdemn others for it though, but I can not blame people who believe that who teach others of the same belief their religeous values.

The Bible wasn't written by Jesus or God. I really don't get why people take it so seriously. It's simply a collection of ideas that were popular at the time, some being religiously real, and some simply being opinions. Gay people were abominations "back in the day" because those were popular beliefs. Like someone else mentioned, many other customs were ordinary then but aren't now. So gay bashing should be thrown out the window because it's a biological occurance, not a decision like most Idiot-Christians® think.

Oh and I'm about 95% sure the video is fake unless the church that hates faggots previously mentioned is actually real.

So, are you saying that the New Testament is more cohesive and reasonable than the old one? ...and that we should ignore the Old Testament 'cause it's obviously nonesense?

It was directed towards you, as if you read the New Testament you would know that:

1.) There is no such thing as "Unclean" food, anymore and
2.) You are no longer stoned for committing a sin.

(And, by the way, in the New Testament I believe there are two instances where stoning is mentioned. The first involved Stephen being stoned for preaching about Jesus and the second was when an adulterer was brought before Jesus.)

Christian belief states that Jesus came to Earth to fulfill the Law's of Moses (The Ten Commandments and the entire book of Leviticus)-- Not to end it. Jesus typically referred to the Law's of Moses in his teachings and commanded people to abide by them, with one exception. Whereas in the past most sins resulted in death and forgiveness required a burnt sacrifice, all sins (Except for one) could be forgiven and anyone could receive salvation through Jesus. This is why people tend to focus more on the New Testament than the Old Testament.

I would just like to say that god does not hate anyone. These people who say god hates fags are retarded and just by saying that are being hypocrites as saying 'god hates fags' is just as bad in god's eyes as being a homosexual. God has anger and wrath but it is a righteous anger it's never hate. There is no reason to bash the bible or god because of these people.

To those suggesting the New Testament as a companion to the Old Testament, you missed Xazy's point. If you're Jewish, not Christian, the new Testament doesn't enter into your religious texts. It'd be like someone from the Church of LDS to say "Ah, but you have to read the Book of Mormon too."

However. Any religion (or more accurately, religious interpretation) that teaches intolerance is causing more harm than good.
