has anyone ever
tried any of the 'get paid to fill out surveys' sites? i'm just curious if they are worth the $19.99 or $35 charge to gain access, etc. I am mainly curious bc i have a good bit of downtime at night while online and if it could bring in a bit of extra money, then i'd be all for it, but my gut tells me they are all a scam.
just wondering if anyone has any experience with it. thanks ![]()

paq: i'm wondering if you can check with the bbb about the sites in question. i strongly guess they're a scam, but shit - who knows? i would have thought the whole "get paid to shop" thing is a scam too, and i think it is a pain in the ass, but apparently it does happen.

I'm not familiar with those sites, but I suspect shakran is correct.
If a research organization wanted opinions so badly that they're willing to pay for it, it seems to me they might spend a few bucks on advertising. The middle-man is not needed. In other words, you shouldn't be hearing from people claiming to put you in touch with researchers, you should be hearing from the researchers who are so desperate to get your input. Another thought is that if the research group was willing to pay for fresh opinions, why wouldn't they pay the middle-man? Corporations pay job placement firms (read: head-hunters) to bring in new talent. It just doesn't make a lot of sense that you should be the one to fork over the cash. |

And like shakran said, it's probably a scam if you have to PAY to work.

i've been a part of the market research they do in malls a couple times when i had some time to kill. Generally paid me enough for a good cappuccino
![]() i've also known people who did the 'mystery shopper' thing and they enjoyed it a bit. My main concern was the paying to work thing. most or the pay sites say that you're just paying for the lists they've accumulated, which makes me question it even more, but if $20 saves you the time of signing up with hundreds of companies, i'd call it a software expense and call it a day. i'll check with the BBB on a few and see how it goes. it isn't a serious concern, honestly, it's just one of those things i could do while online not making money ![]()

I've been on survey sites before and I've never had to pay them for entry. And I've always received payment for my input. I wouldn't pay anything upfront if I were you.
Just my opinion.
