When there's a will there's a way!
We American's sure are spoiled with are transportation systems, mini van's, suv's and pick up trucks, just look at how people can, and do adapt when necessary!
Have any of you been to countries where people get around like this? Share your stories. This reminds me of when I was 16 and my buddy and I went to Paris to visit my brother(I may have told this before) he had a Honda 125 motorcycle and my friend and I rented old Solex mopeds, they had a little weedeater type motor on the front wheel. We were on the opposite side of of the city when I blew a tire, not knowing what to do I picked up the moped and somehow got onto the back of my brother's honda and we drove all the way back. What a hoot!

This reminds me a lot of the Dominican Republic. EVERYONE there has these little scooters, always loaded up with something so they can't see, and then they proceed to cut everyone off. It was quite interesting trying to drive there. But was a great time!

I have seen this sort of thing many times. It isn't as common in Singapore but definitely in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur you will see scooters loaded down with all sorts of interesting things including entire families.

In India I'd see peopled with a bundle of bricks taller than they were stapped to their backs, and trudging up mountains to deliver them. I saw an old man with a whole refrigerator strapped to his back climbing steep steps (hundreds) like it was just another day.

Last time i was in egypt we got friendly with a tok tok driver who managed to fit 4 of us in what is essentialy a scooter with three wheels another seat.
He also told us a story of getting 7 people in, and seeing other drivers attempt the same did make me somewhat scared... ...Until he let me have a go at the reigns, THAT was fun Edit: The russian guy with his booze makes me remember a time my car ran out of petrol and it came between getting a pizza (collection, because it was cheaper for a meal deal) or getting more fuel. In the end i cycled 2 miles home carrying a 15" pizza box on my handles, trying desperatly not to fall over, or stop and lighten the load

All of these photos are interesting, and some are incredible. I obviously have led a sheltered life, but growing up in the country in the USA Midwest will do that...this is eye opening stuff. What comes through for me is the crowding and poverty, relative to what we have here.
