That really oils my gears
Ok, so this title is a really horrendous pun on the 'grinds my gears' saying. so sue me.
Anyway, its so easy for us to pick that one thing (or multiple things) that just went wrong with our day and made us unhappy. Instead, can we all just try to at least find that one thing today that really lifted your spirits? I will start: Today I attended a meeting at work and was able to successfully convey a new (hopefully) efficient process for my entire team and the presentation was well received. So what brought a hint of pleasure to your day today?

I'm only on my fourth beer, but I just left the office
I work in sales (wholesaling financial services). The bulk of my time is spent helping advisors see the value or lack of value, in a certain approach. This is typically thankless work, but it pays well. Today, they started a enerprise wide contest, involving presentation skills and product knowlege. Instead of the typical response from my external partners (it will serve as a distration, is a normal response). Both contacted me, expected me to light the world on fire, and offerred to assist in putting the best presentation ever put on by someone from the inside. Made my day, no matter how it turns out. Correction, now on beer five.

Great days ^^^^
My great moment today was learning from my momma that her medical test came back cancer free. She has avoided this test for years, and more likely decades. Her physician gave her pictures of where the "sun doesn't shine" for her holiday cards. I could hear in her voice the great relief and happiness. |

Hambone you and I always seem to be on the same page, it is becoming quite scary.
I would say a great thing that happened today was the little black stray kitten who someone left in a box at my clinics door, found a great home!! I was sorry to see the little thing (who I named 'Meeper') go and I hugged and kissed it as it was purring. But I was very happy to see it go to someone who really wanted a little kitten. |

Let's see....With the help of two TFP'ers and my very best bud, I got my site right. I got an interview scheduled for a graphic artist position.....with a funeral home. An apparently highly-religious, black-owned and operated funeral home. Well, I have been saying it's a year of change...

I can't really pinpoint one specific thing, but I feel like I'm finally starting to earn some respect at my new job. People are treating me less like 'the new guy', and more like someone who knows what the fuck he's doing.

The guy that I'm working on a website for FINALLY gave us the green light to go ahead and put the final site together! Now I can actually DO WORK (gasp).
I also got to take a lesuriely stroll through both the natural foods grocery store and the hugeamongus Ingles down the road. I've loved grocery shopping ever since I was a little girl, because I always went with my mom and it was fun times for us, so going to the grocery store brings happy memories.

Despite all the arguments with me and constantly having to hear how wrong I was, I was able to prove the the developers that my hunch was right and now they are actively fixing the problem.
