Faith the Bi-Pedal Dog

Clip from Montel William Show

Wow, this looks so odd, but I'm glad a family could look past the obvious problems and help find a solution for this sweet pup. She looks happy and healthy, tail wagging all the time, doesn't even seem to be particularly shy.

Amazing! Goes to show what you can do when you don't know you can't.

I must be a bitch or something but that's definitely on my top ten list for "scariest fucking things I've ever seen in my entire life"

It's nice the dog can still walk and has 'hope' and inspires and all that but it's just freakin' creepy

if that thing started chasing me I would probably shit myself

I am literally holding my hand over my mouth, trying not to laugh out loud at my desk at this post.

It never occured to me that the dog would/could chase anyone, and what that would be like...*weeps with laughter*

^^ "Night of the Living Dog" maybe? Just outrun 'em, Redjake.

blahblah454 04-18-2006 06:23 PM

well I wanted to watch it after reading all those comments but I have to download something for IE, I hate IE so refuse to do it. If anyone knows of the same video on uTube or something like that please share!

Gatorade Frost 04-18-2006 06:26 PM

Interesting. I've never seen a bi dog.

blahblah454 04-18-2006 08:16 PM

Holy shit! I found it on youtube and that is some crazy stuff! Here is a linky if anyone has an IE phobia like myself

Awwww...lil 'brudder!! http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail109.html

abaya 04-18-2006 08:50 PM

Thanks for the uTube, blahblah... I am definitely an IE-phobe. :)

As for the dog... WOW. I am both intrigued and repulsed at the same time. I love dogs, and this one seems quite normal (other than missing half of its legs!)... pretty cool.

I wonder if Faith, as a dog with mutant genes, could reproduce more of her own kind? Evolutionarily, that kind of dog could actually evolve to be bipedal (the way humans might have, from our primate ancestors)... now that would be freaky! :D

BTW, the lil' brudder thing was hilarious. :)

blahblah454 04-18-2006 08:59 PM

Wow abaya that was quite the string of events you layed down there. All I saw was a dog that was missing something, much like a human born with no arms or legs. Imagine that though, dogs walking with humans.

Miss Ina 04-18-2006 09:15 PM

That just shows that a dog's a dog, still loving and playful as long as they're treated right.

If I saw her walking in person, I would be startled. But I think it's sweet.

I like when the owner mentions something about a "divorce" happening before they found the dog, and then she says there was also "kidnapping" and "torture". What the hell goes on in this family? Kidnapping and torture? This is like Montel Williams with a little Law & Order thrown in. Almost makes me want to read that book ... almost.

 What can I say, I'm an anthropologist, I think about evolution of bipedalism more than most people do... :) But that's one method of natural selection... random genetic mutations! (except most dogs like this would have died and not survived to reproduce)

By the way, has anyone looked up the book that this lady wrote, on Amazon? I think she sounds more freaky than the dog, actually... a little too exploitative if you ask me. Still, I'm glad the dog got to be on national TV. :D

Gatorade Frost 04-18-2006 09:25 PM

I think if two bipedal dogs made more bi-pedal dogs a lot of them would die but a few of them would learn to walk like their bipedal parents and eventually you could have a breed of mentally retarded bipedal dogs (Because, you know, they'd have to in-breed the hell out of those guys)

JStrider 04-19-2006 06:26 AM

thats awesome... kinda creepy....

i remember seeing a video about a little dog that had lost both the legs on one side of its body, it had learned to run around on its other 2 legs.

I'd imagine it would all depend on what genes have been altered in what way. I have not the slightest idea in regards to the canine genome, so I can't offer too much in the way of an educated opinion; really only that this would be a prime example of artificial selection, were it to happen.

I thought this was completely amazing too, moving even! Anything is possible if you have a heart and some drive.
