Lojban the Language
I read about this on Slashdot and think it's quite interesting.
Lojban (http://www.lojban.org/) is an engineered (artificial) language that claims to be more efficient and culturally-neutral at conveying ideas. Since it is rapidly parsable, the creators also think that it could be used to talk directly with computers in the future. (As we know, natural language processing is incredibly difficult.) Check it out -- I thought it was interesting, and after reading through a little of the first instruction book, it isn't too difficult to learn, if you're willing to give it a shot. (To avoid accusations: I have no vested interest in Slashdot nor Lojban.) |
There are a great many artificial languages, I think the one with the most speakers is Esperanto though, at somewhere around 1 or 2 million worldwide.
Even though there may or may not be better created languages, Esperanto is the one with the most people studying it. |
No accusations from me - very interesting! Thanks for spotting the link!
