FreeRefill.com -- A Scam?
I was looking for instructions on how to refill my Schmidt safety ceramic roller cartridge (turns out you must replace it) and found www.freerefill.com.
There are no other references to it on Google, and it seems too good to be true. They claim to send you 5 free pen refills, but you have to provide your credit card for shipping. Does this make any sense? How do they make money? Is this legit? I'm sure the community has some good ways to check up on such a website, I'm just not sure personally and want to know what you think before I go ahead and place an order. Thanks! |
shipping and handling is 4.95 -- so it's really not free -- you are paying 1.00 for each refill... I find it hard to believe that the company actually spends 4.95 in actual shipping costs - so that's how they make their money.

you know the old saying... If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

if you have a discover card, log onto their website and download the discovercard software, it allows you to generate a single use credit card number that you can use online safely knowing they can't start racking up charges. I use it when I'm signing up for trial memberships that offer me free shit, that way if I forget to cancel the membership, I don't end up getting screwed with charges :)

basmoq, that is the smartest idea i have ever heard.
I haven't heard of the free refill website. No idea how to check on if it is a scam or not. I would go with basmoq's plan. If you don't have a discover card, try to find out if you can pay by money order. Good luck! |
