I'm a tiger. Some of it is dead on, but some of it is crazy.

I spent the morning having a dim sum breakfast with my lady and her family - there was as much conversation in Chinese as there was in English. I asked how to greet Mother when I picked her up to take her to the breakfast - and have since been able to promptly forget the phrase after apparently scoring some points with my effort :(

I am a Rooster. All the good stuff is true and the bad stuff is totally bogus.

The Rooster


Roosters are the most eccentric of the Chinese zodiac. They are full of dreams and romantic ideas. They are colorful and attractive, radiant and dashing, and they are quite proud of themselves. Roosters are good at handling money and their self-control with keeping budgets is phenomenal. They are not miserly, and in fact, they can be extremely generous and giving. They simply want their finances in complete accord, and yours, too. If you have trouble, Roosters quickly straighten you out whether you want them to or not. Don't be ungrateful either, you should be glad they condescended to help you at all. Roosters are careful with their time and you only deserve so much, so plan things well. Roosters are sincere in their desire to help and no one can carry out important tasks like them. Just be certain your orders are explicit and don't expect them to improvise for you on their own time.

Roosters are ambitious and they reach for the sky. They have a deep passion for their chosen fields, and they are very creative. They usually start out young in life and enjoy success early in their careers. They do well in their own businesses. They are meticulous and competent enough to make things work. When they set out to accomplish something, they leave no stone unturned. They probe deeply with their inquisitive, busy minds. They never remain still. Roosters must learn that some things take time. No matter how competent they are, they can't reprogram the whole world to fit their schedules! They achieve the most amazing things, but Roosters always become eccentric over the final details.

Never underestimate Roosters. They are optimistic and dauntless. They never change their course of action even if the world thinks they are wrong! They are so determined to make some of their wild and idealistic plans work that their plans often do work. With their many splendid talents and eccentric ways, Roosters hit it big

My roomie's Chinese. She's saving me some Chinese cookies for when I get back to school tomorrow. I've been eyeing those cookies on her shelf for a couple days. ;)

Chinatown in NYC was crowded as usual for this time of year, but it sucks that it rained. (also that i was hung over).

When riding the bus I was amazed to see about 500+ people lined up around the building where there's a Chinese Buddhist temple. I think its cool that Chinese New Year is so much more spiritual than our technical one, which seems like just a reason to get waisted. (although I think we could use more of those).

Dog, It's my year!! It's actually pretty close description of me. I hope It'll be a good year :)

You know for the longest time I thought I was considered a 'sheep,' which doesn't really fit me at all.

Turns out because of that first part of January overlap, I'm really a horse, which doesn't fit me perfectly, but comes a damn sight closer.

We went for Dim Sum on the weekend and and enjoyed it as always. The restuarant even had a Lion Dance, which was pretty cool. Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Snake. Slytherin to the core! As usual with these things, some are true, some are not. Some aspects that I wish were true:

*Snakes are elegant dressers, well-mannered, and always discrete. In my dreams...
*Once they have made a mistake,they never repeat it. It usually takes about four or five times and significant pain before I give up on something.
*Snakes make good politicians since they can negotiate just about anything. So wrong it's not even funny!
*Snakes have beautiful skin. If beautiful = baby soft, then this is actually true.

I like this one:
*They are destined for fame and fortune.

What do you know? I'm a dog too, and didn't even know it!

I think these are true about me:
*Dogs are honest, straightforward, and friendly.
*Dogs are tolerant of their friends.
*Before they approve of you, the friendship must develop slowly with a variety of meetings and conversations.
*The Dogs have playful moods and a great sense of humor.
*If you offend them, they will snarl and insult you with expertise. (!!!)
*They endure during any crisis situation. They are trustworthy people and know how to keep a secret.

Tiger.
And it's about as acurate as my astrological sign of Leo. Some here, some there, which is just dead on enough to keep it interesting.

Yeah, I own some of these characteristics, and the rest just seem too off the wall. It makes for a good read though.

Odd, my best friend is Chinese, and I forgot to greet him...
