Pretty sure it was just you.

In any case, I can't think of better news to have heard today. Congratulations and I'll join the countless others in a toast.

TFP is a family. When one of our members is ill, we band together. When one of our members has good news, we celebrate.

Here's to continued good health.

'Good news' doesn't cover it. Enjoy the elation, savour the serenity. And relax. Hope you both have a wonderful holiday. :)

Thank you, everyone. I very much feel the sense of family that Martian speaks of. I especially want to thank those that are, or know someone who is a multi-time survivor. The oncologist was blunt in telling us that this cancer (small-cell lung) *will* come back again. There is no point in denying it, and we refuse to live in dread of the "next time." So we will sing loudly and dance wildly, and store up all the positive energy necessary for the next fight. Let's celebrate, y'all. :)

I'm going to tell you now what the doctors and nurses always told me, attitude is a big part of getting through this. With the attitude that you both have, he'll do well. Keep us informed on how he's doing and continued good luck.

Gigantic congrats Elphaba. I can't imagine what it must have been like to live through that experience, and I'm so happy that you and the Mr. on the other side of it now!

majik_6 02-01-2006 04:23 PM

I'm elated for the both of you! My father and grandfather are both survivors, so I know how great a feeling it is for a loved one to get that greenlight that makes everything so much easier.

Continue on with the same attitude you've shown in this thread, and life will truly be a breeze!

pan6467 02-01-2006 04:48 PM

Best news I've heard all day. Congrats Elph, ya know I love ya beautiful and am very happy for you and your hubby.

May this new life be the beginning of many shared years of happiness, enjoyment and a reminder how one must never take for granted love and life.

Now go back to the dancing and BTW do you do that topless?

Elphaba 02-01-2006 04:52 PM

Snoppy always dances topless. :)

abaya 02-01-2006 05:40 PM

That is just great news. Having lost a close relative to cancer, I am very glad that your husband has been able to beat the damn thing... throw a party for yourselves, pronto! :D

Now, forgive me but I must address an unrelated issue in this thread..

Elphaba 02-01-2006 05:53 PM

Wow, that is AWESOME news, Elph!

I thought this was another Sheehan discussion or similar, and didn't even notice your name attached. :)

Awesome, excellent, wonderful! Congratulations!

JustJess 02-02-2006 10:08 AM

Heh, I thought this was pointing out someone being a troll! Hah.

ANYway... My best wishes and congratulations to you both. Having lost some and won some in my own family, it is always a delight to see a family winning! May you have a wonderful relaxing vacation and settle in to enjoy the normalities of life.
:* I am so thrilled for you!
