8-bit Basement by Profound Whatever author's comments: It began as a graffiti-style project illustrating my first name (there is still a vague A-L-E-X pattern to it), and turned into a smorgasbord of 80s references. The end result is so-so, but I was pleased at the method I figured out to turn two half-barrels into one whole barrel. I call patent dibs.

The house might not be in existence (anymore), but the legacy still lives on
The "Building" part:
Quote:
Top Gear presenter, James May, built a new house in Surrey made entirely out of Lego bricks. This two-story Lego palace, which resides in the middle of a vineyard, has a working bathroom, and is covered inside and out with over 816 million Legos. (Hm. So is it just over 3 million bricks, or does it actually near the astronomical figure of near a billion LEGO bricks, in order to construct a house made solely of the stuff?) [zuzafun.] + [DailyMail.] + [News.BBC.] (^^ if you click but only one of my [bracketed] source/article/website links today, make it the 'DailyMail' one. Fine read, it is.)

The new, 1,205-piece Lego Space Shuttle set combines to form a 17.5-inches-tall spacecraft, complete with retractable landing gear, detachable fuel tank, and booster rockets. Included in the set are three minifigs (male and female astronauts and a service crew member), a ground maintenance vehicle, and a launch pad for takeoffs. The set will cost $100, and is expected to be released in June. [gizmodo.]

Saw a life-size Lego Woody the other day in Copenhagen, and I just had to pose with him.
Then there was the Lego Mars Rover at the Kennedy Space Center.

It's too bad you couldn't find a gallon hat to pose with in that first photo, GG, as I was lost for a second there as to what you were trying to convey (Salsa?) ; I did find myself chuckling, though, as I did realize a moment later you were mimicking Woody.

This could have also gone into the Cosplay theme, but I figure that topic is big enough as it is.

[article]
Variety is currently reporting that writers Dan and Kevin Hageman are crafting
a family-oriented LEGO movie that will combine animation with live action in “an action adventure set in a LEGO world.” Dan Lin, who is currently producing Sherlock Holmes and Robert Rodriguez’s new family film Shorts will produce the film under Lin Pictures. ... With a built-in audience derived from family-friendly film seekers and a seemingly ubiquitous presence of LEGO products in every child’s toy chest, Warner Bros. is sure to have at least a modest success on their hands. Lego Soap @ Geeky Clean personal commentary: while I probably would have less trouble having my bar of soap slipping/sliding around when wet with the above, I think using a washcloth/loofah is the exclusive method I'd employ if I were to use the above.
