Hauntingly beautiful seatbelt PSA

LoganSnake 02-06-2010 03:39 PM

That was awesome.

US needs more ads like that, not that lame "click it or ticket" crap.

Appeal to emotion usually works better than appear to the wallet in many cases.

Punk.of.Ages 02-06-2010 03:53 PM

That shit seriously gave me chills...

wooÐs 02-06-2010 04:23 PM

Cute, I guess.

Call me callous but I prefer more graphic versions, even if they are fiction. Now THOSE give me chills! I had quite a few saved at one point. Tried to Google some just now but found nothing.

Look for 'the most amazing cinematic car crash ever' on YouTube. Legendary.

Important footnote - the vid is pretty graphic. But it's not real.

Craven Morehead 02-06-2010 06:08 PM

wow, very moving

That's my local campaign, and it's the organisation that gave me a day of driver training rather than a speeding ticket last year (the course costs about 50% more than the fine, but you are left with a clean licence and no insurance costs).

It's very forward thinking.

:D

Very touching. My brother was in a car crash two years ago and would probably have suffered less damage, if he had been wearing a seat belt.

I like the way this ad is presented, not shocking, but makes you think.

Wow...very creative and touching.
Kudos to the creator.

If I told you it didn't make my eyes moist, I'd be lying.

/me always wears his seatbelt.

Meditrina 02-07-2010 02:04 PM

Wow. that really pulls at the heart strings. Very well done, and point well taken.

I've watched it ten times or more, and the crescendo at 50 seconds gives me chills every single time.

CinnamonGirl 02-07-2010 03:33 PM

Oh, I liked that. Also teared up a little bit. Wow.

Baraka_Guru 02-07-2010 04:00 PM

Generally, I find messages that catch you off guard are the ones that leave an impact. Predictable messages usually get the "yeah, yeah" response.

An example of one that sticks with me is this one:

Charlatan 02-07-2010 04:04 PM

Beautiful

Atreides88 02-07-2010 08:49 PM

I liked that. I also echo the sentiment that I wish ads here in the States would take the same approach. I think the more graphic ads though would have people up in arms about how violent they are and how indecent that violence is.

Well, now that makes sense. I wondered why the "shoulder strap" embrace was backward. Well, backward for me at any rate. :D

And, I agree that this would be be a far better approach, here in the US, than the typical ham handed approach of "do it, or else we're gonna getcha". Better and far more effective.

Anxst 03-05-2010 11:43 AM

Now, that is a well done PSA. Art with a message.

chewybaca96 03-17-2010 02:07 PM

very well put together, and makes the point in a touching way. thanks
