Know Your Meme: Get Down / Geddan
The above initially introduced me to this video series produced by "The Rocketboom Institute for Internet Studies", which analyzes popular internet phenomenons and their progression amongst the masses. From the several videos I've watched over the past few days, it's not too shabby a production. It also enlightens me on some obscure videos or trends of which I've never heard of (Tay Zonday), and I get caught up just a little bit. P.S. The "Geddan" song is super-catchy.

I totally want to make my own video now. Also...that song is stuck in my head.

I've avoided a majority of them for the most part: also, I don't associate with too many people from 4chan (meaning: none at all), and from what I gather from various sources, most of these "internet fads" have a starting spark in the depths of that particular community, so i don't become exposed to them until I'm 2-3 years too late.
