Ghastly, cynical, sickening TV advertisements
I have long held the opinion that advertisements for insurance, utilities, banking, telecoms and other untangible products and services are usually much more awful than other adverts. Adverts for things that have zero excitement value are even more inherently dishonest and insincere than other adverts because they try to suggest that their products are exciting, desirable and cool - this is almost always untrue and everyone knows it.
It seems this Christmas the mobile phone ads have got even worse and it I cannot turn on the TV or go to the cinema without one of these unbelievably smug and utterly charmless dickheads trying to patronise me. Maybe they won't seem too bad if you haven't seen them before - which I guess will be the case for anyone from outside the UK - but I've been exposed to these three (or others in the same ongoing, worsening 'series' in the case of the last one) many, many times over the past few weeks and I just wanted to vent my anger. I want more people to recognise, and be angry about, this sort of bare-faced disingenuousness. |

I have never seen them but the 1st one you posted is the worst commercial model ever! the "walk and talk" guy is so fucking annoying! stop walking, say what you want, and then go. fucking hyperactive!
the other 2 are pretty lame too. I didn't even know what the product was just by listening to the on screen character.
