Click here to see a fat kid crying (among other things)
I am neither pro- nor anti-skateboarders, so if you're here to rail on me for mocking your favorite sport or promoting stupidity of the young, take it elsewhere, Poindexter.
Someone just emailed me this compilation of skateboard crashes. Given my general hatred to people (see: ~7,000 TFP posts), I find those hilarious, particularly the ones involving both a groin AND head injury. And this video is comedy gold. Then again, I'm pretty much universally acknowledged as the guy who thinks comedy begins and ends at dick and fart jokes. By the way, if you clicked on this, don't go thinking that you're better than me. I warned you in the title. You got what you came here for.

Why don't any of them wear helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves? Idiots.
A cup would be useful too.

I don't find these funny.
I'm not complaining; I'm just trying to find the word for them. All I can come up with is "sublime"---in a sort of corrupted Burkean sense.

Maybe when given a cause and a few minutes I'll come around to embrace you, but until you separate yourself, everyone is a 'schmo'. Also, besides the 'dick' part, and if you insert 'butts', your version of comedy is akin to that which Nickelodeon has been promoting for the past 25 years, green slime and visible maloderances and all. And I don't click anything. Just wanted to add some conversation to the mix, since you started it. I'm pretty sure anything found within the above youtube is along the lines of 'Jackass' and rollerskates, but with less man-ass.

I also find this stuff hilarious. I'm not ashamed of that either. Almost every single person in these videos was doing something pretty retarded and was (or, at least should have been) fully aware they might get hurt. That's where all the thrill and appeal is.
When it goes wrong and they do get hurt they are doing their job as an entertainer at its highest extent.

My thoughts;
A.) When your friend is rolling around on the ground, holding his head, and crying "Oh fuck, oh fuck, my fucking head!", it is really not necessary to ask "Oh shit, Dude, are you alright?". No. He is not alright. On many different levels, he is decidedly not...alright. B.) The groin shots bother me far less than the head shots. I mean, let's face it, some of these guys really do not need to be procreating anyway. When I ride a motorcycle, Nebraska state law mandates that I wear a helmet. I would anyway because I learned my lesson, the hard way, many years ago. Still, the rational is that it helps to keep the state from having to care for so many drooling vegetables. Ok. So, why are there no helmet laws for these dinkuses? Some of those hits had to have done some damage. Or, maybe the damage was already done. C.) Hooray...for natural selection!

i can't embed this, but have a look at 1:39 to see a guy lose his bike in mid-jump, and hit the ground standing from about 50 feet up. Probably shatters his ankles but seems to be more concerned about his pants falling off!
