Videos that make no sense at all.
You know how sometimes you'll be browsing the web, and come across a video or picture that just completely fucks your mind because it makes no sense at all?
Well, here, some people dancing to the legendary Song of Storms, from the video game Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Jesus, WTF. And this one is for fans of Left4Dead: GET TO THE CHOPPAAAAA. Catchy. |
Here comes...Dr. Tran!
You've seen all of his films. You bought all of his merchandise. You made him America's #1 action star. Make way for Dr. Tran! Originally not really seen here. I thought to submit this as a new thread, but I think it's better suited here. I only remembered this video only because of the "Animated Shorts" thread, and a guessing game I'm in right now about asian comedians. |
|
That was great Jetee, is that real?? The sperms were ghosts, how classy.
Condom Boots sweet!!! |
I love the Dr Tran video!
|
Gangsta Marky Mark + Danny DeVito = WTF? That shit is painful to watch. Hahaha, god. |
|
Gotta thank Crack for posting this one a while back.
|
Oh Jesus, this thread is blooming beautifully. Look at these bizarre, deformed gems of internet video footage. Keep it up guys!

Oh... for those not on Digg much, search for RoboGasha, or some variation. It is... mindbending.
|
I totally forgot to post Nannerpuss. Thanks for the laugh.
|
I get a vicarious kick from those handsome dudes dancing in the first vid.
That one gentleman, towards the stairs, makes glorious unabashed love to the wall and.....a chair cushion? I'm loving it. They look relaxed and being in the moment sexy. |

Gotta love the Nannerpus. |
Super Deformed Gundam
I'm sure this makes sense in context, and is probably pretty hilarious if you understand Japanese slapstick comedy some 20 years ago, but as a compilation entry, it's pretty out there.
|
Alright, here is one more that makes you scratch the noggin. :orly:
And to add, I am not a Mario or Nintendo fanatic in any way; why should I be when it took me nearly ten frickin' years to beat Super Mario World and obtain 100% completion. I just happened upon this strange cartoon by untimely coincidence and curiosity. post-script: and for those of you that endured the torture of sitting through that entire thing, wondering who in the world would want to be associated in delivering this type of message and entertainment to children, this oblique quote by Jack Handy makes just a little bit more sense now in the context: Contrary to what most people say, the most dangerous animal in the world is not the lion or the bear or even the elephant. It's "Donkey Kong riding on a shark's back, just gorilla-punching and gnoshing everything in sight.” :surprised: |
"Bob Saget"
still not sure the status or vailidity of these portrayals, but they were once hilarious four years past. |

Great.
This isn't as good, and the guy talking is a little more annoying than the daily news, but the song is something that makes no sense in the sense that it is original, and catchy. Scratch your head, and enjoy the vacuous content, if that's your schpiel. |

Love the mario sex ed one. Reminded me of this:
and this (is that Joe Mantegna's voice?) This is one of my alltime favourites. Turn your speakers up for best effect. |

I had no idea it was on YouTube, and it must have been featured somehow (maybe later?), as those corporate suits don't usually allow just any one to upload videos that exceed 10 minutes. |
Thanks Jetee. I've seen a few vids on youtube longer than 10 mins mostly relating to computer games - walkthroughs and speedruns and such. And there's feature films on there too that seem to be 'official' and not split into parts.
Watching it again my favourite one's now Peanut Butter and JAAAAAM!!!! which I've found out is from a show called the Trailer Park Boys. It's the first I've seen of it but does anyone know if the actual show's any good? If that clip is any indication of the show's funnyness I might have to buy some boxsets. |
Peter Greenaway's feature debut, The Falls (1980), is three hours and fifteen minutes of rambling, almost coherent but meticulously thought-out nonsense describing, with grave candour and a dry, lucid wit the effects on 92 people whose surname begins 'Fall-' of a vague and unspecified phenomenon known as the Violent Unknown Event (V.U.E.). It's an absurdist masterpiece of pointlessness and excruciatingly detailed triviality and, in its entirety, admittedly fairly unwatchable. I had to watch it in bitesize chunks, fifteen minutes at a time. This is one of the 92:
Watch the entire film here: The Falls (1980) Digital | LOVEFiLM The earlier shorts, Water Wrackets (1975), Dear Phone (1977) and A Walk Through H: The Reincarnation of an Ornithologist (1978), provide a more accessible glimpse into Greenaway's extraordinary imagination. See The Cook, the Thief, his Wife & Her Lover (1989) for the closest he ever got to the mainstream. |
truthful commentary: I'm not sure why I didn't initially suspect where this video's premise was going to, but when it hit, (@ around the 48 sec mark) I nearly broke an upper rib. My naivete allowed for this funny to occur (and perhaps my nature of seldom reading youtube titles or descriptions). |

Love (and girlfriends) on the internet
synopsis: What’s your Internet Girlfriend up to now? Oh, nothing. Just balancing 15 books on her head while simultaneously solving a Rubik’s Cube and reciting Pi to the 100th digit. a 1-in-433,000 find on the internet. [videosift.] |
If Lady Gaga were...?
alright, the above actually makes some semblance of sense, but I'd rather not create a thread to discuss its merits of definition, so... here you are dropped. |

This is Hilarious, Tenuous at Best, but you should still watch it:
Quote:
Old Spice and Wieden+Kennedy continue to display their willingness to push comedy in advertising with this new set of Old Spice ads. This time utilizing the comedic genius of directors Tim & Eric from the Awesome Show to push the deodorant. Plus they all star the amazing Terry Crew, the titan of all comedic actors. This description for “Punch” explains it all; “Punches stop people, Odor Blocker stops odor, and parachutes stop drag race cars. This commercial illustrates two of those three points.” The two advertisements that are premier, in my opinion, are "Blocker" and "Flex", in that order. "Punch" is 'meh', at best. |
This thread is like a gift that keeps giving for ever. Here's Mr. Blobby (whose philosophy of life will steer him through):

It seems to be generally acknowledged as something that's an acquired taste, but I enjoy it at least. Maybe try watching a few episodes through alternative means before dropping money on a box set. |
(it will no sense to about 89% of the audience, as the video has no context. Also, it's really an existentialist rant in French, so those that are not accustomed to hearing such things will think it odd.) |
alright, locating this video took an extraordinarily long and agonizing time, mostly because I couldn't remember exactly what I was looking for, as I first watched maybe 4 or 5 years back, and I'm actually kind of sorry I did find it (and then, decided to share here, no less).
alas, I'm sorry if you decide to watch this: Tralala Compilation Video | Music Video | NearlyGood.com (I couldn't find it anywhere else, not on youtube, metacafe, or the like) also, stuff I learned about in the hour or two span I kinda half-heartedly was searching for the above: apparently the song featured is that of the artist 'Gunther' (and the Sunshine Girls?) entitled, the "Ding Dong Song" (Tralala). ah, it was originally released in 1984, and then again 20 years later, by the artist I named above. again, if not readily apparent, the internet culture found this particular song quite intriguing, and was the source of a several hundred parody videos. and this, is the original music video: Günther & The Sunshine Girls - Ding Dong Song |

Digby's so big that he drank A WHOLE LAKE. Stop for a moment and think how big he must be to do that. This is what kids used to watch thirty years ago.
And this is what they watch NOW. Are today's children going to grow up into tomorrow's adults properly if they get brought up on this stuff? Or are they going to carry on being burbling blinking babies? |

I bloody love this thread. The presence of Rhys Thomas in the last clip reminded me of Nathan Barley, who's funny and brilliant because it makes no sense at all. He's a good character and it's a good show because the world he inhabits and almost everyone else make no sense either. All six full episodes can be seen here: Nathan Barley - 4oD - Channel 4

Actually fuck the megalodon: here's Top Cat and the Terminator tearing up the big apple like bears at a beehive. Well actually Strong (Schwarzenegger) tears shit up while Stang (Top Cat) watches from a safe distance whilst exercising his jaw and grievous accent.
...it's got a bit off topic now I think. No more like this, I swear. |
I recenlty spent a good hour finding out about this home-grown (?) meme after clicking on a stray link this weekend.
It's not particularly inventive, but I still absorbed as many examples of them I could find, if ony because it was funny for a spell. Here, I'll feature a few of my favorites of: Guile Theme goes with everything (I think the basic premise is that choice examples of popular and influential cinema and television relevant from the early to mid-90s, up until now, receive a new rendition edgy-and-upbeat BGM, courtesy of the Guile background theme. I didn't even know what it sounded like before this weekend, but now its etched into my mind.) (I really went uncontrollable with raucous laughter at the 10-second mark.) (I'm actually watching this one right at this moment.) |

Hey, that's weird.
I was about to submit a video into my "Made in Japan" topic about something similar, but thought to drop in here first to respond to your "original post", oliver... Regarding your first question about whether or not anyone could help you place/sync the Guile theme to the epic volcanic Jedi death-match scene, first off, sorry it took me so long to reply, and second: did you want the entire thing sync'd? That was an 8-min scene, last I saw it. But, though, I do think you had the right idea there; also, I'm not very good at technical "do-it-yourself" video/audio uploads either, so... I'm not much help. Back on track, I guess it couldn't hurt to feature that video here, as its premise doesn't make much sense in the aid to sell more insta-noodles. [nymag.] |
|
Jet: I think I did eventually find something like what I asked for. Now when I search again I can't find it but the moment's passed now - never mind. Yes it's a very long fight. Probably longer than the Guile music lasts. Never mind.
I need to have a better look at your Made in Japan topic. Actually I only found that Nic Cage one by accident - I was looking at one Keanu did in the early 90s with a view to posting it on your recent thread about him, but by then I was already feeling a bit bad for him, and the thought of putting up a video like that of him on that particular thread seemed at odds with its general tone. It felt mean-spirited so I didn't. Anyway more nonsense from Japan: (in the game if you won with Gon this scene played in a neverending loop) And a bit of Xtro in which a woman gives birth to a FULLY GROWN MAN. Bloody brilliant. Unbelievably this isn't even the best scene of the film. The best scene (and an even more nonsensical one) is when Spoiler: a kid's Action Man comes to life, magically grows to human size and gets nasty with a busybody neighbour - who deserved it because earlier she beat the boy's pet snake to death after it accidentally dropped into her salad - but I couldn't find that scene. |

9 Deaths of the Ninja Opening Credits
"lonelysandwich" explains: Clearly, this was an attempt at some sort of a Bond-esque intro to the 1985 Shô Kosugi suckfest “Nine Deaths of the Ninja”, what with the sexy(?) leotard dancers Vaselined to within an inch of their lives, the budget fog machine, the best pop ballad $350 could buy, the delightful(?) interplay between weaponry and the female form (which, would it have killed them to rehearse first?). Shô Kosugi was a hero to me as a kid. But had I seen this, my life might’ve gone in a completely other direction. And not into ninjutsu. Like it did. Because I practice the art of the stealth assassin. I’m a pirate. Now I’m a wizard. Now I’m a sexy leotard dancer. |

The Most Fun Ever Had In The Entire World Caught On Tape
*Warning* Visual Disclaimer *Warning* - do not watch this video if you even have the slightest inkling that you might be susceptible to an epilectic seizure, caused by disorienting swirling/flashing lights and/or sounds. This very animated commercial(?) has them aplenty, and currently, I am quite dizzy and nauseous myself. Proceed clicking play at your own risk.

Shame on me for not knowing the above video had a context and pre-existing relevance, as well as an inside-joke for being funny, (which I initially missed out on) but I didn't give it too much thought, thinking it was supposed to not make sense, and just be overbearing as so. Silly, silly.

Courtesy of PsychopathicVideo(s), this is "The 11th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos is upon us. By which I mean, the 11th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos infomercial is upon us."
I don't know what a Juggalo is (I'm guessing it's a deranged singing clown; could be wrong with this assumption) but I think this video is nonsensical enough to fit the theme here (didn't watch it, as I rarely watch any youtube video longer than five minutes in length unless I specifically seek it out). |
These weird remixes to videos I've never even heard of before really get me going.

(don't self-deprecate) - I found this video be quite the earworm, it's very visually-striking, and while it may be disturbing to a few, I also found it hilarious.
(because I'm a weirdo ; dammit, I said don't.) Ialso think it's a right-convincing coincidental accoutrement to my previously-embarked "Surreal Scapes". It's a nod to Italo-horror flics form the 70s and 80s. It features an appearance by 60s It-girl Daphne Sherman, wife of the legendary mod tailor Ben Sherman, who stars as a demented ballroom dancing reject / waitress.
