I dont get it?...nothing to explain or support the graph. what do the graphs represent? a survey of popularity? a graph of ticket sales in theatres?

I think it's supposed to represent how good the movies were. If so I think it's somewhat accurate.

Superman II was better than the first one, i.e. Superman - The Movie? I thought the consensus was, the first was far better than the 2nd.

Hmm. Would that be the version of Superman II released in theaters, back in the early '80s, or would that be the (reportedly far superior) "Richard Donner Cut", released on DVD in the mid 2000s?

pretty accurate but I would rate star wars 1-3 at a 0. LOTR 1-3 at a 0 and any Star Trek at a -100.

Seems pretty accurate to me. Remember the graph is relative as proven by Godfather 3 being significantly lower than the other GF movies even though it still wasn't a bad movie. So, even if you didn't like any of the Star Wars or LOTR movies the relative quality is still accurate

I'd disagree with Jaws though. There's no way Jaws 3 was better than the 2nd.

Superman 1 & 2 are tough calls. I recently watched Superman 1 and 2(Donner cut) on Bluray and they were both really good.

Is that Rambo 1 (ie First Blood 2) or is that First Blood. If it's First Blood, then First Blood 2: Rambo should be higher. Otherwise, I agree with the rating.

I would lower the ratings on the Back to the Future sequels. Not nearly as good as the first one.

The Terminator was a better film that this gives it credit for...

Also... I really hope these levels are only used to compare against the other films in the Trilogy and are not giving some sort of cross comparison. If the latter is true then suggesting that The Godfather II is equal to Terminator II and only marginally better than Superman II is just insane.

What I disagree with is that this graph can only be accurate if every person that ever watched the movies were surveyed. I could go to different places around the US and get different opinions on all these movies. So really the graph is only a representation of how popular or liked the movies were to the specifi group of people that were surveyed. This is emphasized by the responses of the TFP members here.

Doesn't matter which version. Superman II has Zod, one of the best comic movie villains ever. "Kneel before Zod." That said they are both awesome.

That's what I am saying too... the graphs make sense if they are an internal comparison between the films in the trilogy only. As soon as you start looking at the ratings between sets of trilogies you end up with head slappers like the one you reference.

See, that's how I was looking at it. Pretty accurate that way, in my opinion, except I'd maybe put The Two Towers slightly below the other two.

Thinking too hard or hardly thinking? (rimshot)

Or, in my case, thinking with a hard-on?

Generally agree except I thought the 2nd and 3rd matrix did better than that (still not as good as the first, but no where near that low). And which Batman are they talking about? And where is star wars 4, 5, and 6?

I took the Star Wars graph as meaning the original trilogy.

Seems like most of them either go down or stay the same. It would be interesting to find one that actually increases throughout all three movies. I disagree on the last Spiderman one though, it was actually almost as good as the first or second.

I thought Spidey 3 was an absolute piece of trash. They tried to cram so much in one movie, and Topher Grace is Venom? WTF.
Also, X-Men 3 was terrible. Cyclops dies, Magneto loses his powers, but maybe not? Yeah, that's a "Let's cover our asses in case we need him back for X-men 4" thing.
They made the Juggernaut a little bitch, too. The guy's supposed to be much bigger, IMO.
