Samsung SSD Awesomeness

DO WANT

By the way, anyone in marketing, THIS is how you do viral.

Xerxys 03-12-2009 11:59 AM

Want it NOW!!!

Zweiblumen 03-12-2009 02:53 PM

"Strangely" there was no mentions what the pricetag of this build was....

telekinetic 03-12-2009 02:56 PM

The drives OEM for $1100 a pop, so there's $24000. The rest of the components could be calculated if you pause the video and look at the part numbers. He may even have costing in there.

biznatch 03-14-2009 07:18 PM

Holy fucking christ. I do want this rig, but I have a feeling having it on would put quite a dent in my electricity bill.
I wonder if the dude who built it got to keep it as his rig. I'm quite sure there's a few elegant ways to have all these components, including the SSDs, in a custom case, with LOTS of airflow. Hell, maybe the case would have to have two walls made entirely of fans. :D

Esoteric 03-15-2009 05:18 AM

Daaaaamn, do fucking want. That is insane.

Silvy 03-16-2009 04:58 AM

Indeed, that is unreal!

I've passed it on to our IT dept, so they know what I'll want the next time I'm ordering a new server ;-)

Damn, that's blazing fast

bobby 03-16-2009 06:35 AM

wow...now what will it do for me?

xoxoxoo

Xerxys 03-20-2009 08:26 PM

Bobby, think of all the tree hugger series you could bring me!!!

MSD 03-25-2009 09:34 AM

That was an awesome video, and as usual, contrasted by absolutely fucking retarded Youtube commenters.

kutulu 03-25-2009 10:43 AM

I guess it is just an illustration but you would never defrag an SSD.

macmanmike6100 03-26-2009 08:33 PM

this is amazing! and revealing of what the future may hold for all of us...

Anxst 03-28-2009 01:54 PM

Wow...that's freaking amazing.

Here's a thought - if he can build a machine that fast, how fast are the machines the US government has built that are still portable?
