Snopes says it's true. Urban Legends says it's partly true - the condoms are cast off from factories, that are recycled to be used in hairbands. I hope it's not true! Imagine all the STD's! Anyway, this rumour has been going around since last year.

But seriously, would you buy these, used or unused?

theres a big difference in used condoms and cast offs from factories...

used condoms could potentially be unsanitary and carry a risk of disease.

cast offs from the factory are just the ones that were defective and weren't acceptable to use as condoms.

cast offs being used doesn't bother me... used ones does.

As someone who regularly holds her hair-fixing implements between her teeth..... EW.

My aunt sent me an email about this months ago and I have been trying to block it from my memory and stick with hair products that look less sketchy. I don't think I would buy a cheap-o bag of twisted up hair-ties like that just because the twist makes it look like they will behave strangely and make my life difficult.
